Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable multicarrier wireless communication systems to receive multichannel quality feedback from a plurality of user devices during legacy single carrier communication.SOLUTION: CQI reporting regions of PUCCH formats are expanded for multiple DL carriers in order to receive CQI feedback of the multiple DL carriers (602). Quality feedback of wideband carriers is reported as a CQI for all the DL carriers (604). A table defining a subband size and bandwidth parts as a function of the system bandwidth is expanded to include larger bandwidths (606). Subband CQI reporting is done beyond the defined bandwidth parts with certain periodicity (608).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide apparatus and methods for interference mitigation in wireless communication networks.SOLUTION: The method comprises: determining that a first plurality of subcarriers within a first carrier bandwidth are used for carrying a first set of uplink control channels to a macrocell node; and allocating a second plurality of subcarriers within a second carrier bandwidth for use in carrying a second set of the uplink control channels to a femtocell node, where the first plurality of subcarriers and the second plurality of subcarriers are orthogonal.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of sending grant information to mobile devices having single carrier capabilities and/or mobile devices having multicarrier capabilities in a multicarrier wireless communication system.SOLUTION: A method for transmitting grant information comprises: determining grant information including at least resource information to be used; identifying a control region to communicate the grant information as a function of user device capabilities; inserting the grant information in the identified control region; and transmitting the grant information in the identified control region. The grant information can be sent in a legacy control region and/or a non-legacy control region.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems and methodologies that facilitate assigning resources for an anchor carrier and an additional carrier with a grant message.SOLUTION: The grant message communicated with an anchor carrier can include resource information for a plurality of carriers. The systems and methodologies facilitate identifying control information for an anchor carrier and/or an additional carrier on the basis of an operating mode. The operating mode is a legacy mode or an extended mode (1102). On the basis of the operating mode, particular resources associated with control regions are monitored for control information for respective anchor carrier(s) or additional carrier(s) (1104).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acknowledgment channel driver in a wireless CDMA system.SOLUTION: The forward link acknowledgment channel driver for wireless communications comprises: a block encoder which receives an ACK/NAK message having at least one bit, and operates to encode the ACK/NAK message with a generator matrix to produce a codeword; a first mapper which maps the codeword into a first binary signal; and a first mixer which mixes the first binary signal with a first orthogonal spreading code.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an efficient operation of acknowledgement in a wireless communication system. SOLUTION: Firstly, a reverse supplemental channel (R-SCH) frame is received in a base station. Then, the base station transmits an acknowledgement (ACK) signal when the quality of the received R-SCH frame is shown to be good. A negative acknowledgement (NAK) signal is transmitted only when having sufficient energy enough to enable correct decryption of the data frame when being combined with energy from data frame retransmission while the received data frame is shown to be bad. When the best base station is known, the transmission of the acknowledgement signal for the best base station can be reversed so that only the NAK signal is transmitted. At the time of an absence of the acknowledgment, an affirmative acknowledgement is regarded to exist. It is performed to minimize a transmission output request. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide apparatus and methods for interference mitigation in wireless communication networks.SOLUTION: A method comprises: determining, at a node of a first wireless communication system, a received signal power level transmitted by one or more nodes of a second wireless communication system; and adjusting, in response to the determined power level, bandwidth of a signal transmitted by the node. The method further comprises adjusting, in response to the power level, a transmit power of the signal transmitted by the node.
