The access terminal transmits, to the access point, acknowledgments for the plurality of downlink subframes on an uplink subframe of an uplink channel of the wireless communication medium on one or more occasions, the uplink subframe including a plurality of bits, the plurality of bits corresponding to the plurality of downlink subframes or the plurality of processes.

Abstract: Techniques for co-existence on a shared communication medium are disclosed. To foster co-existence, operation of a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) may be cycled between active periods and inactive periods of transmission, on a communication medium shared with a second RAT, in accordance with a Discontinuous Transmission (DTX) communication pattern. An identifier may be selected for association with the first RAT. A channel reservation message associated with the second RAT may then be transmitted, over the communication medium, to reserve the communication medium for one of the active periods, the channel reservation message including the identifier.

Abstract: Techniques for channel configuration on a shared communication medium are disclosed. An access point may select a set of resource elements to carry an uplink control channel and transmit a configuration message including one or more configuration parameters associated with the selected set of resource elements to one or more access terminals. The access point may then receive uplink control signaling from the one or more access terminals via the selected set of resource elements. An access terminal may receive a configuration message including one or more configuration parameters for an uplink control channel from an access point and determine a set of resource elements configured to carry the uplink control channel based on the configuration message. The access terminal may then transmit uplink control signaling to the access point via the determined set of resource elements.

Abstract: A method for mitigating the impact of a power imbalance on a remote data rate in a wireless local area network (WLAN) includes transmitting a wireless local area network (WLAN) acknowledgement (ACK) packet at a first transmit power level to a remote device. The method further includes transmitting to the remote device a WLAN data packet at a second transmit power level that is lower than the first transmit power level of the WLAN ACK packet. Another method for mitigating the impact of a power imbalance on a remote data rate in a wireless local area network (WLAN) may include selecting a wireless local area network (WLAN) acknowledgement (ACK) packet transmit rate independent from a rate at which a WLAN data packet is received. This method further includes transmitting to a remote device a WLAN ACK packet at the selected WLAN ACK packet transmit rate.
