Abstract:
Conditional progressive encoding and decoding is discussed, in which a receiver receives a plurality of encoded message segments as a sequence of messages, and sequentially decodes each of the message segments in sequence, in which the decoding of the next encoded message segment is triggered only by successfully decoding the current encoded message segment. On the transmitter side, the transmitter breaks a message payload into a sequence of message segments, and then independently processes each message segment for generating error detection coding and encoding into multiple codeword segments. The transmitter multiplexes each codeword segment over the spectral space of subcarriers to transmit the message.
Abstract:
Dynamic adjustment of antenna selection period at a wireless communication device or user equipment having two or more antennas. The described approaches consider an antenna selection performance metric. The antenna selection performance metric may include both measurement overhead (capacity loss due to measurements) and antenna switching capacity gain (gain in capacity through switching antenna subsets). The antenna selection performance metric may further include an estimate of UE speed or an antenna selection change rate. The antenna selection period may be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the antenna selection period based on the antenna selection performance metric. Antenna selection may be enabled or disabled based on the antenna selection performance metric.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides for an apparatus for wireless communications using carrier aggregation comprised of multiple carrier components. The apparatus can include a processor configured to generate one or more instances of a codeword from a data payload. In an aspect, the apparatus also includes a modulator configured to modulate the one or more instances of the codeword onto the multiple carrier components for transmission. In an aspect, the apparatus also includes a resource manager configured to provide the processor with a virtual carrier space comprising a logical carrier having a contiguous bandwidth equivalent to the aggregated bandwidth of the multiple carrier components. In an aspect, the process may be further configured to interleave at least one of the codeword instances across the multiple carrier components. In an aspect, the modulator may be configured to modulate the codeword instance onto the multiple carrier components in accordance to the interleaving.
