    Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The apparatus may receive a message from a base station. The message may indicate a first dedicated resource for downlink transmission, and the first dedicated resource may be associated with a scheduled downlink transmission from the base station. The apparatus may determine a second dedicated resource for uplink transmission based on the first dedicated resource for downlink transmission indicated in the message. The second dedicated resource for uplink transmission may be associated with the scheduled downlink transmission. The apparatus may determine whether to transmit an information message, to be used by the base station for transmitting the scheduled downlink transmission, on the second dedicated resource.

    Abstract: A base station (BS) may transmit, and a user equipment (UE) may receive, a physical broadcast channel, such as a narrowband physical broadcast channel (NB-PBCH). In an interference-limited scenario with synchronous cells in a network, repetitions of a symbol being transmitted for a first physical broadcast channel of a first cell may collide with repetitions of a symbol being transmitted for a second physical broadcast channel of a second cell. This may result in the UE being unable to recover symbols of a physical broadcast channel. In some aspects, the BS may transmit, and the UE may receive, a physical broadcast channel including bits processed using a first processing stage, such as using first scrambling sequences, and a second processing stage, such as using second scrambling sequences, to compensate for the interference, thereby ensuring that the UE can recover the symbols of the physical broadcast channel.

    Abstract: In order to enable a UE receiving a narrowband signal transmitted using in-band resources to use the LTE reference signals to assist the UE in receiving the narrowband signal using an in-band deployment, a phase rotation employed by the base station may be fixed relative to a known reference position in time. An apparatus for wireless communication at a base station may determine a phase offset for a narrowband signal for transmission using wideband resources, the phase offset having a relationship to a reference point in time and transmit the narrowband signal using the determined phase offset. An apparatus for wireless communication at a UE may receive a narrowband signal having a frequency location within a wideband signal and rotate a symbol of the wideband signal by a per symbol phase offset having a relationship of the phase offset to a reference point in time.

    Abstract: Due to the limited dimension of a NB that may be used by multiple users, as well as possible large coverage areas, timing offset estimation may be outside of NCP. The inaccuracy in the timing estimate can be improved by using more than one tone hopping distance for PRACH. An apparatus may then transmit a first and second tone of the PRACH at a first hopping distance from the first tone. The apparatus may then transmit a third tone of the PRACH and a fourth tone of the PRACH at a second hopping distance from the third tone. The second hopping distance may be greater than first hopping distance. The apparatus may also transmit an additional tone of the PRACH using a random hopping distance. A receiving apparatus may receive the transmitted PRACH and determine a phase estimation based on the sets of tones having different hopping distances.
