SOLUTION: This method for producing a foamable thermoplastic resin particle includes bringing a thermoplastic resin particle into contact with and impregnated with a liquid volatile foaming agent in the absence of a dispersion medium while the plastic resin particle is immersed beneath the liquid level of the volatile foaming agent to obtain a foamable thermoplastic resin particle. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide foamable composite resin particles capable of obtaining a foam molded article having excellent crack resistance and small dispersion in antistatic performance. SOLUTION: The foamable composite resin particle includes 100 pts.wt. of a polyolefin-based resin, 120-560 pts.wt. of a polystyrene-based resin, and a foaming agent and is provided with a surface layer including a cationic antistatic agent. A prefoamed particle is formed with a value A/B obtained by dividing an average bubble diameter A of the bubble in contact with the skin layer of the prefoamed particle by an average bubble diameter B of the bubble passing through the point at the half of the radius of the prefoamed particle of 2-6 when a cross section of a section obtained by dividing the prefoamed particle obtained when the particle is prefoamed into two, passing through the center from the surface is photographed using a scanning electron microscope. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expandable polystyrenic resin particle which gives an expanded molded product having excellent crack resistance and retains high expandability over a long period of time by having excellent retainability of a foaming agent, its production method and the expanded molded product. SOLUTION: The expandable resin particle is produced by including a volatile foaming agent into a polystyrenic resin particle obtained through formation of a polystyrenic resin by impregnating a styrenic monomer into a polyolefinic resin particle followed by polymerizing the monomer. Where 140-600 pts.mass of the monomer on the basis of 100 pts.mass of the polyolefinic resin particle, is used; an average thickness of an outer skin layer is 15-150 μm and is observed by that after soaking a section obtained by halving the resin particle through the center from the surface of the particle, into tetrahydrofuran and extracting a polystyrenic resin component therefrom, the cross-section of the section is photographed so as to obtain a scanning electron microscope image, followed by observing the image; and 5.5-13.0 mass% of the foaming agent is contained.
