PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of securely detecting an object with a simple structure regardless of usage state, and a method for detecting the object. SOLUTION: Invisible light LIR is emitted from a display surface 10 of a display part 1. The invisible light LIR reflected by a detection target object 12 which contacts or is close to the display surface 10 is received on the display surface 10. Based on the received invisible light LIR, the detection target object 12 is detected. Without influence of display state of the display part 1 or influence of the usage state at that time, such as surrounding situations (being bright, or dark), the object can be securely detected. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more surely detect the position of an adjacent or contact object by simple structure without deteriorating image quality while securing convenience. SOLUTION: Each of pixels 11 in a display part 1 is provided with a display cell CW for displaying an image and a light receiving cell CR. A lighting control part 52 controls the emission of respective display cells CW so as to turn on and off the display cells CW at the number of times per unit time corresponding to the number of frames per unit time. A light reception control part 31 controls the light reception by the light receiving cells CR so as to acquire light quantity made incident on each of all the light receiving cells CR in one light emitting period in which the display cells CW emit light and so as to acquire light quantity made incident on each of all the light receiving cells CR. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device, a communication system and a communication method having versatility, allowing certain and efficient information transmission of large capacity through dynamic display and detection of a two-dimensional code. SOLUTION: This display device 1 and an input/output terminal 2 have light reception/emission parts 11, 21 capable of displaying of a moving image and receiving light. The display device 1 determines an optimum format used for communication with the input/output terminal 2 from a plurality of kinds of formats related to a moving image two-dimensional code that is the two-dimensional code varying along a temporal axis, generates the moving image two-dimensional code including content data on the basis of the format, and displays reads the moving image two-dimensional code as shown by an arrow X to communicate between the display device 1 and the input/output terminal 2. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device and a recording and reproducing method which associate additional information data with audio data to be recorded on an optical disk and record them. SOLUTION: Since this recording and reproducing device is provided with a microcomputer 13, a memory control circuit 10 and a RAM 11 being as associating means which associate additional information data or information data with information data or additional information data which are already recorded on an optical disk 20 or associate information data and additional information data which are already recorded on the disk 20 but are not associated and perform data processing so as to record them on the disk 20, the recording and reproducing device can also reproduce the associated additional information together in accordance with a number of musical information and show it on a displaying part 23, etc., when the information data are reproduced.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the usability of a reproducer/recorder corresponding to a disk, wherein recording data is managed so as to display the data files of an image, a character and the like in synchronism with audio data. SOLUTION: When a buffer memory 13 reaches its full storage capacity of track data during track reproducing, the reading of track data from a disk is stopped, and until the track data storage capacity of the buffer memory 13 is reduced to a specified level or lower, according to a priority based on the order of synchronous reproducing, picture files (AUX data files) to be reproduced in synchronization are read from the disk and then stored in the buffer memory 13.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device and a recording and reproducing method for displaying the related information data of information data at mounting of a recording medium. SOLUTION: This recording and reproducing device records or reproduces the information data by a recording and reproducing means to the recording medium formatted to record the information data. In this case, since it is provided with a memory control circuit 10 for discriminating the presence/absence of the relating information data relating to the information data on the recording medium prior to the reproduction of the information data of the recording medium, a RAM 11, a microcomputer 13 and a display part 23 for displaying the presence/absence of the related information data and the related information data, regardless of whether or not the related information data can be recorded or reproduced, the presence/absence of the related information data and the related information data are displayed, prior to the reproduction of the information data.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitive touch sensor that stably detects an object with simple configuration irrespective of an external environment, and a display device and an electronic device including the touch sensor.SOLUTION: The contact (proximity) position of the object is detected based on a detection signal Vdet obtained from a sensor detecting electrode 44 according to the change of capacitance. During detection, a detecting operation is performed based on a signal (a detection signal S11) of basic frequency f0 in a common driving signal Vcom, and signals (detection signals S13, S15) of two harmonics 3f0, 5f0 in the common driving signal Vcom out of the detection signal Vdet (Sin). The difference in harmonic characteristics between the detection signal Vdet of the object and external noise Sn is utilized for detecting operation while the influence of external noise is suppressed without changing a driving frequency (a basic frequency f0) for detection.

SOLUTION: When a display device displays an image and receives light on a display surface simultaneously or alternately, processes of causing the display surface to emit light to display the image and receiving the incident light on the display surface are performed at the same time. In the process of receiving the incident light, two steps of receiving light are performed, in a state where the display surface emits light for displaying the image (Step S11) and in a state where the display surface does not emit light (Step S12). The difference of the amount of the received light in the two steps is detected (Step S13) to detect a contact state or an adjacent state to the display surface. The difference of the amount of the received light in the two steps is binarized to determine the position of the contact state or the adjacent state to the display surface. SOLUTION: In an HPF section 41, an HPF image 41A is generated after a non-detection object image is eliminated from an imaged image 33A. In a binary section 42, a binary image 42A is generated through binary processing for the HPF image 41A. In a peak detection section 43, by use of the binary image 42A as a mask, an image 33-1 in an area corresponding to the opening of the mask is extracted from the imaged image 33A, and from the image 33-1, a peak value Pm and the position of a peak pixel 33m are detected. In a decision section 44, based on the relationship of magnitude between a difference Δp and a threshold TH1, the existence or non-existence of the detection object contacting to a display surface 10 is decided. In a position derivation section 45, using the detection result and the decision result from the decision section 44, the position on the display surface 10 in regard to the detection object contacting to the display surface 10 is derived.
