Abstract: PURPOSE:To save the manpower for input operation and to speed up the operation, by adding the code signal of space after the word read out and writing it in the 1st memory, in an English typewriter input device provided with abbreviating key. CONSTITUTION:When a normal space key 10 on the keyboard 4 is depressed, the system is in the state waiting for the next new key input. When abbreviating keys 11a, 11b are depressed, the code signal for a word or tail of word is selected depending on whether the key input before two keys stored in the main memory 2 is read out and is a space or not. If it is a space, specified word is read out from the library 3 and written in the main memory 2. Spaces are written in the addresses thereafter. After the insertion of word or tail of word, the pointer is returned to the address of the main memory 2 where new key input is written in, allowing to receive new key input.
