Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bio-fuel cell in which a fuel solution for drinking is not contaminated and is easy to be recovered.SOLUTION: In a bio-fuel cell 1 of the present invention, an absorber 30 is attached to a cell 10. A fuel solution 50 of the cell 10 is absorbed and held by the absorber 30. The fuel solution 50 after use for power generation does not backflow from a fuel supply section 13, and the fuel solution is not contaminated. Thus the fuel solution 50 used such as commercial beverages can be used for both of drinking and power generation. Also, the fuel solution 50 can be recovered or eliminated only by removing the absorber 30 from the cell 10.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pet type toy or a pet type robot capable of giving a biological simulation feeling to a person. SOLUTION: This electronic equipment includes: a fuel cell 21; a controller 10 for converting information relative to an output from the fuel cell 21 to electric signals and for outputting the same; a speaker 18 for presenting a physical change recognizable from the outside based on the electric signals output from the controller 10; and actuators 3AA 1 -5A 2 . The electric equipment can give the biological simulation feeling to a user by controlling outputs of action and voice in response to output characteristics of the fuel cell, which resembles action of a biological individual, and presenting to the user. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation method capable of suppressing a decline in performance of a cathode in a biofuel cell and of achieving high power or the like. SOLUTION: The power generation method at least includes an electrolyte introduction step of introducing an electrolyte into a cathode, and a fuel supply step of supplying fuel to an anode subsequently to the electrolyte introduction step, wherein the electrolyte is introduced to the cathode before the fuel supply, thus making it possible to fill the cathode with the electrolyte that contains no fuel. This enables the suppression of penetration of the fuel into the cathode. SOLUTION: This enzyme electrode is an electrode wherein oxidation-reduction reaction proceeds with an enzyme as a catalyst, and includes at least an electrode base material, an enzyme immobilizing film for immobilizing the enzyme onto the electrode base material, and a collector provided with a protrusion higher than the thickness of the immobilizing film. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell of which at least either of a cathode and an anode is made of an electrode in which enzyme is solidified and which can stably obtain a high current value if the above electrode has pores inside, and provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The fuel cell is provided with a structure in which a cathode 2 and an anode 1 are facing each other with an electrolyte layer 3 in-between, and the cathode 2 is made of an electrode in which an oxygen reduction enzyme or the like is solidified and at least a part of a surface of the electrode is water-repellent when the electrode has pores inside. For example, a water-repellent agent is formed on the surface of the electrode to attain a water-repellent property. For the water-repellent agent, a material composed of a water-repellent material such as carbon powder or the like and an organic solvent such as methyl isobutyl ketone which phase separates from water is used.
