Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an information-recording medium capable of favorable transition between an amorphous state and a crystalline state and capable of securely recording and reproducing information, by constituting a thin-film recording layer of an SbSe compound comprising Sb in a specified percentage, in an ersable optical recording material. CONSTITUTION:An SiO2 film is vapor-deposited, if required, on an acrylic resin base, and then an SbSe compound is vapor-deposited thereon to provide a thin- film recording layer having a thickness of about 900Angstrom . In this case, an Sb2Se3 vapor source and an Sb vapor source are used, and the substances are vapor- deposited together while controlling the ratio of the amounts thereof. The content of Sb in the vapor-deposited film is set to be 58-85atom%. Then, an SiO2 film is vapor-deposited on the recording layer, and the resultant material is adhered to an acrylic resin plate by a UV-curing type resin, followed by curing the resin to obtain the recording medium.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To produce a CLV disk which is capable of simultaneously executing recording and reproducing on both surfaces so as to improve transfer rate. CONSTITUTION: A CLV disk is constituted so that the angular matching of the sectors is performed on a stamper and simultaneous recording and reproducing of the information on the both surfaces are performed. In other words, in the case of the cutting of a CLV format disk, a formatter 2 receives the angle the same as that of the start position of the address of a start sector from a cutting machine 1 and predicts the address in the vicinity of the angle the same as that of a start address that is beforehand computed. When the sector comes, the length of the buffer is changed and it is confirmed that electric signal of the angle information transmitted from the cutting machine is received and the address signal of a next sector is transmitted. Thus, the errors in the cutting start radial position and the amount of change in the angular position caused by the variation in track pitch are absorbed and sector angles are made uniform among the different stampers.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of a cartridge or breakage of a shutter opening/closing mechanism, etc., from generating even when the carrying case is dropped by mistake by forming a gap which protrudes to the outside at locations which correspond with the corners of a stored optical disk cartridge. CONSTITUTION:An optical disk cartridge 1 which is stores in the main body 3 of a carrying case is stored under a condition in which the cartridge 1 adjoins to the inner wall of the main body 3, and although there is a slight gap G between both parts, but they are substantially joined to each other. Then, at the corners on the inner wall of the main body 3, which correspond with the corners of the optical disk cartridge 1 to be stored, a gap 3c which protrudes outside is provided. Therefore, even when an external force is applied to the corners, the corners of the inner wall of the main body 3 and the corners of the optical disk cartridge 1 do not come into contact with. By this method, an impact from the outside is dispersed by a planary contact between the optical disk cartridge 1 and the inner wall of the main body 3 of the carrying case, and the impact force is not concentrated at one point on the corner of the cartridge 1.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To expand a utilization range and to enhance an added value, in an optical disk which can record a dynamic image, a static image and a voice, by making the postrecording operation of the voice possible. CONSTITUTION:A magneto-optic material and a phase change material are applied onto a disk substrate 10 so as to exclude the outer circumferential edge part and the inner circumferential part, and a recording and reproduting region 1 is formed. Address information areas 2 in which, e.g. frame addresses for an image are recorded are formed in the region 1, and they are arranged and formed radially in angular positions decided as viewed from the center of a disk, i.e. in angular positions at nearly 180 deg.. The frame addresses in the areas 2 are formed in advance on the disk substrate by an ordinary preformat by using a so-called pit pattern by protruding and recessed grooves or the like. When an image and a voice are recorded by a user on an optical disk, they are recorded in positions excluding the areas 2. That is to say, areas 4 for postrecording are passed immediately after they have passed the areas 2, and image information and voice information are output simultaneously.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To securely correct the linearity of a display by obtaining a timing signal for scanning by using reference light, correcting the linearity of the display with this timing signal, and making a specific signal precede this timing signal. CONSTITUTION:The timing signal for scanning is obtained by using the reference light to correct the linearity of the display with the timing signal, and the specific signal is made to precede the timing signal. Namely, a dichroic mirror 21 and an infrared-ray laser light source 22 are provided on the optical path of laser beam Lw between a dielectric mirror and a polygon mirror 11 and a reference infrared laser beam Li is emitted by the light source 22. Further, a dichroic mirror 24 is provided on the optical path of the laser beam Lw be tween relay lenses 13 and 14 and separates the original display beam Lw and the reference beam Li ; and the beam Lw is supplied to a lens 14 and the beam Li is supplied to a grating plate 25. Consequently, the display with good linearity is made.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable recording, reading and erasion with laser light by forming a phase transition recording layer of a material enabling reverside transition from an amorphous phase to a crystalline phase on a substrate and a layer of a material having a higher m.p. than the material of the recording layer and causing no reaction with the material of the recording layer even at the m.p. or above on the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer 2 is formed on the surface of a substrate 1 of glass, acrylic resin or the like by vacuum-depositing a material which records information by transition from a crystalline phase to an amorphous phase by rapid heating and rapid cooling and can erase the information by reverse phase transition by removal of heat. The material includes Sb2Se3. A layer 3 of a material having a higher m.p. than the material of the layer 2 by >=300 deg.C and causing no reaction with the material of the layer 2 even at the m.p. or above is then formed on the layer 2 by vacuum deposition with electron beams or other method. The material of the layer 3 includes Mo. The thickness of the recording layer 2 can be reduced, and an optical information recording medium enabling sure recording and erasion with high sensitivity and small power at high speed is obtd. The medium is fit for repeated recording.
