SOLUTION: The signal processing unit has a motion vector detection circuit 7 that divides a received video signal into 1st blocks to detect a motion vector, a 1st sbutractor 10 that applies motion compensation to the received video signal on the basis of the motion vector to obtain a difference signal between the received video signal and the received video signal of one preceding video unit, an orthogonal transform section 11 that divides the difference signal into 2nd blocks to convert them into signals each having a frequency band, an attenuator 12 that applies nonlinear processing by each frequency band to the signals from the orthogonal transform section 11, and a 2nd sbutractor 14 that synthesizes the signal from the attenuator 12 with the received video image. The border of the 1st blocks has a correlation with the border of the 2nd blocks.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain improvement of retrievability at the time of high-speed reproduction and the reduction in the sense of fatigue or discomfort and to enable efficient retrieval by controlling the number of times of repetition for outputting the intermittent signal of an intermit signal processing means, together with the reading interval of a video signal reading means corresponding to reproduced additional information. SOLUTION: An additional information reproducing processing part 8 reproduces the additional information on the contents of a recorded video signal, together with the video signal on a recording medium 1. When reproducing the video signal from the recording medium 1 at a speed higher than the ordinary reproducing speed, a video signal reading part 2 outputs the intermittent signal by intermittently reading this video signal at every prescribed frame interval corresponding to the reproducing speed. A video signal reproducing processing part 3 outputs the outputted intermittent signals for one frame repeatedly for a prescribed number of times. Corresponding to the additional information reproduced by the additional information reproducing processing part 8, a main control part 7 controls the frame reading interval of the video signal reading part 2 and the number of times of repeated intermit signal outputs from the video signal reproducing processing part 3.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image detector and an image detecting method by which contents can easily be grasped when intermittent images are generated by thinning a moving image. SOLUTION: The video signal of a moving image is inputted to an input signal processing circuit 2. Image memories 3 and 4 store the video signals for the unit of a frame, namely, for the unit of a picture. The image memory 4 surely stores a picture frame timewisely preceding to the picture frame stored in the image memory 3 for one picture frame. A change amount detection circuit 5 operates a change amount by operating the difference of data between the picture frames stored in the image memories 3 and 4. A representative picture frame detection control circuit 6 detects a representative picture by comparing the change amount of image data in the image memories 3 and 4 with a prescribed threshold value. Besides, processing for averagedly detecting an image as the representative picture frame is performed by dynamically changing this threshold value.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore an original video signal by surely erasing and interpolating a telop (television of a que) indication inserted into the video signal at a video/ audio signal recording device for receiving and recording television broadcasting. SOLUTION: The video signal, in which telop is inserted, is supplied to a circuit 20 and separated into signals Y and C. The signal Y is digitally converted and written into a memory 22 under the address control of a controller 11. On the other hand, the interpolate signal, in which telop is not inserted, containing original video signal information is supplied to a decoder 28 and converted to interpolate data or interpolate data position data, and the real interpolate signal is generated by a circuit 29. This signal is overwritten on the address corresponding to the telop part in the memory 22 under the control of controller 11 so that the telop part can be erased and interpolated and the original video signal can be restored. Since the telop indication is erased and interpolated while using the interpolate signal, the original video signal can be surely restored.
