    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. which has excellent flame retardance, mechanical properties, heat resistance and stability in residence during molding and hardly emits gas, by blending an arom. polyester with a specified compd. a low-molecular halogenated epoxy compd. and an antimony compd. CONSTITUTION:A cyanuric ester compd. (B) of a halogenated bisphenol of formula I [wherein Ar , Ar , Ar and Ar are each a [halogen- or (halogenated) lower alkyl-substd.] monomvalent arom. group; Ar is a [(halogenated) lower alkyl-substed.] halogen-substd. bivalent arom. group; and n is a degree of polmn.], obtd. by reacting a cyanuric halide with a halogenated bisphenol, is mixed with a halogenated epoxy compd. (B) of formula II or III [wherein X is halogen; Y is a member selected from the group consisting of a (halogenated) lower alkylene, -SO2, etc.; u and v are each 1-4; n' is 0-10; n'' is 1-10; and Ar is Ar ] in a weight ratio of 95-10/5-90 to obtain a mixture. 100 pts.wt. arom. polyester (A) is blended with 2-50 pts.wt. said mixture and 1-50 pts.wt. antimony compd. (D).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer sheet having excellent embossing properties and high toughness, being excellent in thermal weldability on the occasion of heating lamination, showing little heat shrinkage and further being excellent also in the outward appearance of the surface, and a card such as a magnetic card or an IC card constituted of the sheet. SOLUTION: At least one layer of the multilayer sheet is a sheet A constituted of a vinyl-series (co) polymer and at least one of two surface layers is a sheet B constituted of one kind or more of thermoplastic resins selected out of an amorphous polyester and an aromatic polycarbonate. The card is constituted of the multilayer sheet.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayered polyester sheet used in a card such as a magnetic card or an IC card excellent not only in embossing processability but also in heat resistance and impact resistance, and the card comprising the same. SOLUTION: The multilayered polyester sheet is formed by laminating two or more sheets.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a new polyarylene sulfide sulfone polymer of excellent heat resistance. CONSTITUTION:A polyarylene sulfide sulfone of a melt viscosity of 6.20-6.60, obtained by reacting an aromatic dihalosulfone with phenolphthalein, an alkali metal salt and a source of sulfur. An aromatic dihalosulfone is reacted with phenolphthalein in a molar ratio of 99/1-60/40 in the presence of an alkali metal hydroixde or an alkyl metal salt in an organic amide solvent and/or an organic sulfone solvent to form an oligomer having halogen atoms at both ends. Next at least one source of sulfur selected from among an alkali metal sulfide, an alkali metal hydrosulfide and hydrogen sulfide is added to the reaction system and reacted with the oligomer at 175-235 deg.C for 1-20hr. Thus, a resin having a particularly high glass transition temperature and excellent thermal decomposition resistance can be obtained. This process is industrially advantageous in that a polymer having a high glass transition temperature which can be varied can be obtained.
