    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cloth for polishing a magnetic disc allowing texture machining (polishing) for presenting uniform and fine surface roughness (Ra) by securing sufficient cutting amount (SR), regardless of the grain size of abrasive grain. SOLUTION: At least weft is made of non-crimped threads mainly made of polyester extra fine filament fiber having round cross section and the weft covers the surface with wider area as compared with warp. This cloth comprises five or more sheets of satin fabric having a cover factor CF of 2800 to 3800 determined by the following equation. CF=[ warp total fineness (dtex)}×warp density (number/25.4 mm)] +[ weft total fineness (dtex)}×weft density (number/25.4 mm)] ...(1).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foamed molding excellent in dimensional stability, vibration-damping properties, mechanical characteristics, and recyclability by compounding a thermoplastic resin with a liquid crystalline resin having a specified m.p. and a blowing agent. SOLUTION: A resin composition for a foamed molding is prepared by compounding 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin with 0.5-70 pts.wt. liquid crystalline resin having a melt viscosity (280 deg.C) of 50 Pa.s s or lower and 0-30 pts.wt. blowing agent. The resin composition is melt kneaded at a temperature not higher than the m.p. of the liquid crystalline resin but not lower than the liquid crystal initiation temperature, charged into a mold, and heated to a temperature not lower than the decomposition temperature of the blowing agent but not higher than the m.p. of the liquid crystalline resin to be foamed. With regard to the state of dispersion of the liquid crystalline resin in the thermoplastic resin, it is preferable that the width of distribution of diameters of dispersed particles of the liquid crystalline resin is narrower and that at least 60% of dispersed particles are present in the range from the position of the number average dispersed particle length to the position of (minus number average dispersed particle length× 0.3).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the degree of cleanness after wiping by a method wherein a wiping tape is made up of a textile using a multifilament yarn comprising a very fine fiber with a specified value of fineness and the total fineness of the multifilament yarn is increased by setting the ratio of the total fineness between warp and weft thereof. SOLUTION: A textile using a multifilament yarn produced from a very fine fiber is slit narrow by heat cutting to make a wiping tape 1, which is wound on a core 2 to form a roll-shaped wound body 10. The same textile is slit broad by heat cutting to make a wiping tape 1, which is wound on the core 2 to produce a roll-shaped wound body 10. In this process, the wiping tape 1 is made up of the textile using the multifilament yarn comprising a very fine fiber with the fineness thereof below 1 denier as at least one of a warp and weft and the ratio of the total fineness between the warp and the weft is set 1.5-10 times while the total fineness of the multifilament yarn comprising the very fine fiber is made larger.
