Abstract:
An apparatus for removing contaminant particles from an enclosure containing a rotating magnetic disk by using the air flow created by rotation of the disk. A tacky substance is provided at a point of maximum centrifugal force within the enclosure so that contaminant particles are permanently captured. Means can be provided for refreshing the tacky substance.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coating a protective coating to medium paper printed with ink in a printing engine. SOLUTION: The coating method includes steps of arranging a plurality of nozzles in a vertical array for discharging, arranging the printed medium paper sent from the printing engine adjacent to the array, discharging a gelatinous coating material from the nozzles to the printed surface of the medium paper, moving the coated paper from the array to its vertically displaced position, irradiating the coating with radiant energy for enabling the curing of the coating and moving the coated medium paper to the discharging passage of the printing engine. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve color to color registration in a color calibration method for a printing method. SOLUTION: This method comprises a step to print a plurality of multi-color images, a step to measure the relative positions of a first portion of each multi-color image having a first color of each image and a second portion of each multi-color image having a second color of each image, a step to compare at least one difference between the position of the first portion and the position of the second portion for generating a list of positional errors with at least one desired difference between the position of the first portion and the position of the second portion regarding each image, a step to use a least square regression analysis of the list of positional errors, in order to decide a movement required for arranging the first portion of each image to be successively generated within a desired degree of accuracy, and a step to adjust the arrangement of the first portion of each image to be generated successively by the decided amount of movement. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To match or register positions of images to be put one over another more accurately at low cost in an easy manner. SOLUTION: A plurality of rollers such as a drive roller 18 driving a photoconductive member belt 20 are mounted on a frame of an imaging device 10 and the belt 20 is wound around them; and exposure stations 45 and 58 relating to an imager 12 or 14 are arranged around them. A controller calculates an optimum value of an elapsed time up to when an imager 14 such as an LED begins to generate a light output to image a line based upon the time when an imager 12 such as ROS beings to generate a light output to image an object line of multi-color imaging, information received from an angular position sensor 16 detecting the phase angle of the drive roller 18, an angular position as a function of the phase angle of the drive roller 18, and information or a formula relating to the eccentric width or eccentricity of the drive roller 18, and the imager 14 to generate the light output is driven. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for adequately performing the registration of sheets as media. SOLUTION: The method for determining the angular velocities of a medium 10 to nips NA, NB in a system 20 for registration of media comprises a step of acquiring the angular velocity as the time function, a step of determining the track of the nips on the medium, and a step of determining the angular velocity as the function of the position of the nips on the track. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for adequately performing the registration of sheets as media. SOLUTION: The method for determining the speeds VA, VB of nips NA, NB in a system 20 for registration of media comprises a step of parameterizing a set of formulae for indicating the analytical format of the speed profiles of the nips, a step of determining the parameter values applicable to arbitrarily specified situations through the simulation and the iteration, and a step of determining the speed profile of the nips based on the determined parameter values. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide various encoder wheels and encoder wheel sensors for providing a function accurately positioning paper to a printing device in an image forming device. SOLUTION: In the image forming device 100, paper 130 is moved in a direction 140 of low-speed scanning, and the moving amount of the paper 130 is measured by first and second encoder wheels 170, 175 and first and second encoder sensors 180, 185 disposed on both side surfaces.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for preventing a paper trailing edge printing from being deleted which can handle a paper so that components for forming images can move in proximity to the paper without any obstruction. SOLUTION: A biasing member 600 can firmly hold the paper on a paper path to a paper guide 610 by communicating with the paper guide 610. A printer 630 is enabled to contact the paper 620 near the trailing edge of the paper 620. The biasing member 600 applies a bias to the paper guide 610, preferably applies a force to the paper guide 610 so that the paper 620 is stretched tight to a farther point along the paper path. Images can be formed normally on the paper 620 with the use of the printer 630 by maintaining the paper 620 in the stretch state.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for improving alignment between color resolved images. SOLUTION: By controlling the output of image data and the speed of an image carrying member for every one or more color resolved images based on the measured position and speed of the image carrying member, the deviation of the alignment is eliminated or reduced. A position measuring sensor 352 on an image carrying member device module is used to measure the position of the image carrying member in a processing direction and provides movement information in real time. A position measuring controller 248 detects the pattern of a position measuring mark by using the sensor 352 and processes the data detected by averaging and correlating in order to eliminate a detection error, whereby the position of the image carrying member in the processing direction is decided.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the size of copying paper from being changed by heat and pressure at a fusing and fixing time or a transferring and fixing time, to prevent the size of an image from being changed in accordance with it and to accurately register the image. SOLUTION: The preliminary adjustment device (PSPA) 204 of a blank paper base is included in order to change and stabilize the size of one part 64 of a paper base before it is supplied to transferring and fixing stations 29, 39, 49 and 59. The PSPA 204 includes a heating/pressuring device preliminarily heating/pressuring one part 64 of the paper base so as to change the size thereof to such an extent that it cannot be changed even heat and pressure are added by the heating/pressuring device at the fusing and fixing time of a back stage.
