    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a substantial difference between widths of mutual connection fitting elements adjacent to a seam in the seam and to make a pulling strength of the seam that in a specified range by allowing the seam to contain an ultraviolet ray curing adhesive agent for connecting the fitting elements mutually. SOLUTION: A ultraviolet-ray curing adhesive agent is used in a seam part of a puzzle cut belt. By the use of a puzzle cut connection device, a ultraviolet- ray curing adhesive agent is applied to the seam 31, and then the agent therein is cured by ultraviolet rays to form the seam 31. A belt produced by this method has an improved tensile strength to a level of about 50 pounds/inch (about 8.9 kg/cm), desirably to a level of about 15-50 pounds/inch (about 2.7-8.9 kg/cm), and most desirably to a level of about 35-40 pounds/inch (about 6.3-7.1 kg/cm). The height of the joit should be decreased to zero (0) substantially.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge ink in an optimum manner by forming a cavity defined by a channel plate so that a lateral sectional area from a manifold part through a heating part to a nozzle part is smaller stepwise. SOLUTION: A channel is formed at a face of a heating chip 10 where a primary plane where a heating element 60 is arranged and a channel plate 12 butt. A part of the channel plate 12 immediately adjacent to a heating part 20 where the heating element 60 is arranged is formed as a nozzle part 22. An end part of the heating part 20 at the opposite side is formed as a manifold part 24. A lateral sectional area of a cavity formed by the channel plate 12 is made smaller stepwise from the manifold part 24 to the nozzle part 22 through the heating part 20. A liquid ink particularly of a larger viscosity than 2P is discharged in an optimum manner accordingly.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jointed flexible image forming member belt having an improved seam form without a projection which hinders the movement of a subsystem of device. SOLUTION: This method for reducing the surface roughness of the welding seam of the image forming belt consists of a step 407 in which a belt part which contains the welding seam and a belt end part adjacent to the same is pressurized by a certain pressure, a step 409 in which the welding seam is heated up to the temperature to be heated which is near to the glass transition temperature, but is lower than the same while being pressurized, a step 411 in which the welding seam is, subsequently, cooled up to the temperature to be cooled, a step 413 in which whether the surface roughness is one to be satisfied or not is determined and a step in which the heating step 409, the cooling step 411 and the determining step 413 are repeated until the determining step determines that the surface roughness of the welding seam is the one to be satisfied. In such a manner, the surface roughness of welding seam of the image forming belt is reduced, the high spike-like projection is removed, a problem that a cleaning blade suffers a loss is removed, the efficiency of cleaning of blade is enhanced and an effective life is prolonged.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain satisfactory adaptation to transfer to a rough printing substrate as well as to ensure satisfactory peeling characteristics by forming an adaptation layer containing an electrically conductive or semiconductive polymer on a substrate and an arbitrary outer peeling layer on the adaptation layer. SOLUTION: The image separator 20 has a substrate 1, an adaptation layer 2 and an outer peeling layer 3. The substrate 1 contains an electrically conductive filler 4, the adaptation layer 2 contains an electrically conductive filler 5 and the outer peeling layer 3 contains an electrically conductive filler 6. The substrate 1 may be in the form of a belt, sheet, film or roll. The adaptation layer 2 may contain an adaptable electrically conductive material and/or an adaptable electrically semiconductive material. The outer peeling layer 3 is preferably a thin insulating peeling layer. A material suitable for the adaptation layer 2 is selected from fluoropolymers including Teflon and a fluoroelastomer, silicone materials such as silicone rubber, polyurethanes and mixtures of these.
