PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for strainer filtering including a filtering tube, which has a substantially larger filtering area for the same length and width, can substantially reduce foreign matters that cover an induction surface and flow-through resistance from the foreign matters, and which accordingly reduce the decrease in the pressure of a coolant before and after flowing through.SOLUTION: The device for strainer filtering including the filtering tube has at least one inlet side for receiving the coolant and a discharge side for discharging the filtered coolant. The device includes: the filtering tube comprising a hollow tube which is formed by bending a punched plate having a plurality of filtering holes; an upper portion plate having a first groove formed on the lower surface thereof so as to couple the upper end of the filtering tube, and having an inlet portion for receiving the coolant; and a lower portion plate having a drilled hole to which the lower end of the filtering tube is coupled. The filtered coolant inside the filtering tube flows into the drilled hole and is discharged from the discharge side.

The invention relates to a backwash filtering device using tubular wedge-wired screen elements (8, 42) which can be accommodated in a casing (30) comprising a filter inlet (32) and an outlet (4) for the liquid that is to be filtered. Liquid can flow through the filter elements (8, 42) in both directions for filtering (24) or backwashing (26). An actuatable washing arm (5) is provided for backwashing (26). Said arm has a liquid outlet (52) for contaminated liquid which can be successively displaced underneath the flow-through cross-sections (D) of the filter elements (8, 42). By providing at least part of the tubular wedge-wired screen elements used (8) with a conical design, a backwash device with improved filtering, enhanced backwash capacity and increased energy performance in relation to the liquid flow in said filter elements is thus obtained.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system for treating ballast water and a method of controlling the same. More particularly, the system of the present invention comprises: a body flowing ballast water; a filter filtering the ballast water flowing inside the body; a self-cleaning unit suctioning foreign matters adhered to the filter and back-flushing water to backwash the filter; a backwash pipe discharging the foreign matters and backwash water discharged from the self-cleaning unit outside the body; and a filtration device containing a control valve providing drawing power enabling the self-cleaning unit to absorb foreign matters and backwash water by opening the backwash pipe. The control valve controls the opening range of the backwash pipe, depending on the amount of foreign matters contained in the ballast water, and adjusts the flow control of backwash water discharged through the backwash pipe, so that the system and the method for treating ballast water can prevent backwash water from being excessively discharged to reduce incidental expenses in cutting the duration if ship′s anchorage, reduce the operating time of the system for treating ballast water, and control the flow of backwash water for fuel saving.
