Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substituent apparatus of a comparatively low cost in order to discharge a chemical additive into a fluid system at a fixed speed which requires minimum human intervention. SOLUTION: The apparatus for discharging the chemical additive 7 into a fluid material which is selected from a lubricant composition or an operation liquid composition, e.g., a container 1 includes: a fluid material non-permeable casing 3 which has a hollow interior; and the additive composition 7 which contains at least one fluid material soluble additive. The additive 7 is held in the container 1 by at least one fluid material permeable element 11 which is installed at the opening 13 of the casing 3 or in its vicinity, and effective for providing the discharge of the additive 7 into the fluid material. In addition, a method for discharging the additive 7 into the fluid material is provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
Fuel supplies for fuel cells are disclosed. The fuel supplies can be a pressurized or non-pressurized cartridge that can be used with any fuel cells, including but not limited to, direct methanol fuel cell or reformer fuel cell. In one aspect, a fuel supply may contain a reaction chamber to convert fuel to hydrogen. The fuel supplies may also contain a pump. The fuel supply may have a valve connecting the fuel to the fuel cell, and a vent to vent gas from the fuel supply. Methods for forming various fuel supplies are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A fluid apparatus that includes a manifold that includes a first branch and a second branch, a first check valve coupled to the first branch of the manifold, and a purifier unit that includes a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is coupled to the second branch of the manifold. Also a fluid purifying apparatus that includes a vessel that includes a first interior compartment for containing a purifier material and a second interior compartment for containment of a fluid containing impurities, wherein the first interior compartment is separated from the second interior interior compartment by a fluid permeable support, and a rupturable seal.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a continuous oxidation method. According to said method, the substance to be oxidised and the oxidising gas are guided in counter-current and the oxidising gas is mixed with a substream, which contains a substance that has already been oxidised, before entering the reactor. A Venturi jet is particularly suitable for use as the mixing organ.
Abstract:
In a method of introducing hydrogen into aqueous liquids without forming bubbles, the hydrogen is introduced through a composite membrane with, on the liquid side, a coating containing no pores. The preferred fields of application are biological or catalytic processes requiring the introduction of hydrogen to remove oxygen, nitrites or nitrates from aqueous solutions.
