    Abstract: A hot melt adhesive system includes a supply container for storing adhesive particulate, a transfer pump operatively connected to the supply container, a transfer hose operatively coupled to the transfer pump, and a blocking member. The blocking member is movable between a first position in which stored adhesive particulate and air are permitted to be withdrawn from the supply container into the transfer hose, and a second position in which the stored adhesive particulate is blocked from passing through the transfer hose while air is permitted to pass therethrough to flush the transfer hose of residual adhesive particulate.

The particles including discrete fastening bits having one or more projections, with each projection having an overhanging head for snagging fibers. A container having an agitator or a blade assembly in its bottom section is obtained and then partially filled with fibers, so as to at least partially cover the agitator or blade assembly. The system includes a fiber recovery or recycling subsystem that vacuums up overspray or waste fibers and forwards them back toward the hopper.     Abstract: A loose-fill insulation product is provided which includes a dry mixture of loose-fill fiberglass and an inorganic (being composed of matter other than plant or animal) adhesive in the form of a redispersible powder. During application, the dry loose-fill mixture is coated with a liquid (e.g. water) so as to activate the adhesive. Thereafter, the loose-fill mixture with activated adhesive is blown or sprayed into a cavity (open or closed) so as to insulate same.     Abstract: A fully integrated insulation spraying system with an insulation spraying subsystem for spraying wet or dry insulation and a fiber recovery subsystem for recycling waste insulation fibers and reintegrating them into the spraying process for more efficient and ecologically sound use of the insulation material. The insulation spraying subsystem includes a hopper with a rotary conveyor that conditions the fiber insulation and carries it into a standby chamber which is connected an airlock that introduces the fibers into a moving airstream. The airstream carries the fibers to the spraying head where moisture is added to promote adhesion of the insulation. A pneumatically powered insulation shaver is provided for smoothing the insulation after it is applied. The fiber recovery subsystem includes a vacuum powered pickup for gathering the waste insulation that is shaved off, a cyclone separator and primary and secondary filters for collecting the fibers, and an airlock for metering the fibers into the airstream of the insulation sprayer. Preferably, the system is mounted on a truck for transportation to a construction site. A self-contained power unit, which operates the air pumps, water pump and mechanical components of the system, further increases the portability and efficiency of the system.
