Bei einem fokussierenden elektroakustischen Wandler mit einem Träger (3), der auf seiner Vorderseite (V) mit einer ersten Gruppe (5) und auf seiner Rückseite (R) mit einer zweiten Gruppe (6) keramischer Piezoelemente (P1, P2) bestückt ist, wird in einer Wandlertestbetriebsart eine Überprüfung der Wandlerleistung dadurch ausgeführt, dass eine der Elementengruppen (5 oder 6) auf der Vorder- oder Rückseite (V oder R) mit einem der bei normalem Betrieb des Wandlers erzeugten Hochspannung entsprechenden Hochspannungsimpuls (Up) beaufschlagt wird und daraufhin ein dabei durch eine über den Träger (3) übertragene mechanische Belastung von den Piezelementen der anderen Elementengruppe (6 oder 5) erzeugter und als Messspannung dienender sekundärer Spannungsimpuls (Us) als Maß für die aktuelle Wandlerleistung der angesteuerten Elementengruppe mit vorgegebenen, zuvor ermittelten und abgespeicherten Referenzwerten der Wandlerleistung der angesteuerten Elementengruppe verglichen wird (Fig. 1).

A method and apparatus for three dimensional ultrasonic scanning with reduced electronic switching and cabling requirements. The invention includes a body (101) including a relaxor ferroelectric ceramic material and electrodes coupled to opposing surfaces of the body (101). Electronic switches (103) select electrodes (202,212) so as to select column regions (204,206,208) of the body that are arranged adjacent to one another in a row extending radially outward from a central axis of the body (101). A bias voltage source (105) is coupled with the electronic switches (103) for substantially polarizing ceramic material within the selected column regions of the body. A sector controller (103) dynamically configures the electronic switches (103) to rotationally vary a position of the row arrangement of selected column regions (204,206,208). An oscillating voltage source (109) excites the row of selected column regions to emit an acoustic beam, so that the beam rotationally scans the medium as the sector controller (107) rotationally varies the position of the row arrangement.

An electrical apparatus for driving an ultrasonic piezoelectric crystal transducer in a surgical handpiece for the fragmentation and aspiration of tissue, which apparatus includes an electronic control loop (12) in combination with a voltage source amplifier (2) having an output which is connected to the piezoelectric crystal transducer (3) with a tuning inductor (4) in parallel. A control system for monitoring the control loop (12) and a component for controlling tissue selectively are also disclosed.

An ultrasonic probe includes a plurality of ultrasonic transducers. The ultrasonic probe is connected to a reception system circuit including at least one first delay adder circuit in which a predetermined number among the plurality of ultrasonic transducers is configured as one subarray and delaying and adding are performed in subarray units with respect to an ultrasonic wave reception signal that is acquired from the ultrasonic transducers included in the subarray, and a second delay adder circuit in which delaying and adding are performed with respect to the ultrasonic wave reception signal that is acquired from the ultrasonic transducers. The plurality of ultrasonic transducers include a first group which transmits the reception signal to the second delay adder circuit passing through the first delay adder circuit and a second group which transmits the reception signal directly to the second delay adder circuit without passing through the first delay adder circuit.

A transducer includes a plurality of elements each including at least one cell structured in such a way that a diaphragm including one of a first electrode and a second electrode disposed facing each other via a space is vibratably supported, bias wiring for supplying a bias voltage to the first electrode to provide a potential difference between the first and the second electrodes, and for electrically connecting the first electrodes of the elements to each other, and signal wiring lines each connected to a different one of the elements. The bias wiring includes a plurality of branch wiring lines to each of which the first electrodes of a part of the elements are connected, a plurality of first common wiring lines for connecting the branch wiring lines to each other, and a second common wiring line for connecting the first common wiring lines to each other.

The disclosure relates to a Synchronized Array of Vibration Actuators in a Network Topology that provides for synchronized arrays of low-cost, readily available vibration actuators to emulate superlative single actuators and to bring together sets of these emulated high-performance actuators to create a broad range of desired control effects. Such arrays of actuators may operate in both spatial and temporal modes, which can create haptic effects that relate to the user via their position and orientation in space. The spatial mode may create h -pulses or the amplitude of a vibrational effect may change based on the position of the device. And the temporal mode may create vibrational effects that interact with the user to create an awareness of time. Additionally modes include a performance mode, a bandwidth mode, a magnitude mode and a reliability mode. The different control modalities may be combined together into a single vector control space, which spans the haptic capabilities of sets and/or subsets of actuators.

Das insbesondere auch zur Erzeugung von Stoßwellen zur Beschallung von körperinneren Objekten geeignete Gerät ist mit piezokeramischen Wandlerelementen (1) als elektroakustische Wandler ausgestattet, die aus einer Hochspannungsquelle (9) mit Hochspannungsimpulsen angesteuert werden können, um in Abhängigkeit von der vorgegebenen Polarisierung der Wandlerelemente (1) und der Polarität der Hochspannungsimpulse Stoßwellen oder Schallimpulse durch gerichtete Deformationen und Längenänderungen der Wandlerelemente (1) zu erzeugen. Die vom Gerät abgegebene Schallenergie ist dann besonders hoch, wenn die Wandlerelemente (1) vor dem Eintreffen eines Hochspannungsimpulses (16) mit einer Vorspannung (14) beaufschlagt und vorgespannt werden, deren Polarität entgegengesetzt zur Polarität des Hochspannungsimpulses ist.

An ultrasound transducer unit including a plurality of ultrasound transducers transmits and receives ultrasound waves to and from an inside of a subject. In a case where a checking operation unit is operated, a controller controls a driving voltage supply unit such that a driving voltage is supplied with all of the plurality of ultrasound transducers as driving target transducers. In a case where the checking operation unit is operated, a depolarization determination unit calculates, for each ultrasound transducer, a reception sensitivity in a case where an ultrasound wave is received by driving all of the plurality of ultrasound transducers as the driving target transducers, and determines whether or not a depolarization determination value calculated from the reception sensitivity of each ultrasound transducer satisfies numerical conditions. If the numerical conditions are satisfied, a polarization voltage supply unit supplies a polarization voltage to each of the plurality of ultrasound transducers.
