Abstract:
A flexible omnidirectionally reflective horse lead has a central portion, and mechanical attachment means to accommodate a bridal bit ring. The lead reflects an incoming light beam from a walker or horseback rider back in the direction from which it emanated, preventing dangerous encounters during dusk or nighttime hours. The omnidirectionally reflective elements may be incorporated in a horse harness, or in a halter suitable for horses roaming in a paddock or field. The reflective elements are created by surrounding a central braided rope of nylon or polyethylene fibers with a cylindrically braided reflective sleeve. The braided reflective sleeve is composed of narrow width reflective strips having a show surface with a flexible nylon retroreflective sheet sewn thereto. Reflectivity is achieved by thermally bonding corner cube or microsphere retroreflectors to a flexible polymeric sheet. Due to its braided construction, the reflective elements reflect light omnidirectionally over a large angle of acceptance, illuminating the horse harness or halter. An improved measure of safety is thereby provided for both the horse and the horseback rider.

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminous fiber having excellent luminescent characteristics in the dark and excellent visibility in a bright place and further high drift resistance and high settling speed. SOLUTION: The luminous fiber is a conjugated fiber composed of a core component and a coating component. The core component composed of an organic synthetic fiber having 1.4-2.0 specific gravity, 2.8-6.5 GPa tensile strength and 50-600 GPa tensile modulus of elasticity is coated and formed with a thermoplastic synthetic resin containing 10-50 wt.% of a luminous agent. The area ratio of the core component in the cross section perpendicular to the fiber axis is 50-95%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphorescent fishing line emitting light by external stimulation such as light or the like, having afterglow luminance characteristics for extraordinarily long hours after removing the light and expressing very excellent visibility in night fishing, while facilitating visual confirmation of a fine motion of the fishing line in the axial direction of the fiber, and excellent in strength and durability. SOLUTION: The phosphorescent fishing line includes a stranded body 10 consisting of a plurality of yarns of a phosphorescent synthetic fibers 11 and a non-phosphorescent synthetic fibers 12. In the fishing line, the phosphorescent synthetic fibers 11 and the non-phosphorescent synthetic fibers 12 are alternately positioned on a surface layer part in the axial direction of the stranded body 10. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for vertically lifting a load, reduced in the weight of the lifting device and easy in handling. SOLUTION: This device includes: a base 1; at least one jib 2 extending out from the base; at least one cable 3 guided from the base around the tip of the jib; and at least one device 4 for gripping or securing the load attached or attachable to the end of the cable guided around the tip of the jib. The cable is a synthetic fiber cable. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
A retroreflective metal wire product (100) is described having a first coating (120) covering the metallic wires (110) wherein retroref lective beads (130) are partly embedded and a protective coating (150) covering said beads (130) and first coating (120). The metal wire product (100) can be made from a metallic strand (102) or wire, the metal being stainless steel, or low carbon steel or high carbon steel. The retroref lective metal wire product can be used for diverse appliances such as spoke wire, signalisation means, bookbinding wire to name just a few.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a photo-luminescent wire rope having an extended luminescent effect, and to a method for manufacturing the same. The photo-luminescent wire rope of the present invention comprises a plurality of outer layer strands which are woven around the outer circumference of a core strand, wherein at least one of said outer layer strands is a photo-luminescent wire rod into which a mixture of a photo-luminescent pigment and a synthetic resin is extrusion-molded. The method for making the photo-luminescent wire rope of the present invention comprises the steps of: mixing a photo-luminescent pigment with a synthetic resin and extrusion-molding the mixture into a photo-luminescent wire rod; preparing a plurality of wires by wire-drawing a steel wire rod; preparing a plurality of strands by weaving said wires; selecting one strand from said plurality of strands as a core strand; and weaving the remainder of said plurality of strands and said photo-luminescent wire rod, which act as outer layer strands, around the outer circumference of the core strand, thereby forming a photo-luminescent wire rope. The photo-luminescent wire rope of the present invention is excellent in maintaining luminance and photoluminescence, thereby facilitating detection of potential dangers at night or in dark places and preventing potential accidents.
