Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention concerns a building system comprising at least one profile having a bottom and two side walls defining an opening in the profile, and at least one bracket attachable to said profile, wherein the side walls and bottom of the profile form a dovetailed profile opening where the profile side walls hereby form an angle of less than 90° with the profile bottom, and wherein the bracket comprises flexible side engagement members that are adapted to be biased against the side walls of the profile for mounting the bracket therein.
Abstract:
A flooring system combines a dimensionally stabilized sub-floor laminate with a dimensionally stabilized tile laminate, the sub-floor laminate and the tile laminate being held together by magnetic attraction. In one embodiment one or other of the laminates is magnetic, and the other has a ferromagnetic engagement sheet. In another embodiment, a magnetic intermediate sheet is placed between ferromagnetic strata of the two laminates. The tile laminate may include ceramic tiles, which may be glass or porcelain. Those tiles are substantially rigid. They have flat ground edges to provide abutting matching fit with adjacent tiles. On assembly, neither mortar nor grouting is employed. The sub-floor has pre-defined mounting hardware accommodations that permit the fasteners not to interfere with the flatness and fit-up of the laminates.
Abstract:
A self-locking paneling system is provided and includes: a panel defining a void therein and a pin positioned within the void; another structure configured to connect with the panel, the other structure comprising a receptacle; and a magnet positioned on at least one of the receptacle and the pin. When the panel and the other structure are positioned together, the pin is configured to move from a retracted position from within the void to an extended position to engage the receptacle using magnetic force produced by the magnet. The self-locking paneling system can be used for raised-flooring systems.
Abstract:
A fastening system for connecting mats is provided. The fastening system may include one or more features such as a hook and loop fastening system, a projection and trench fastening system, retainer and a tension strip securing system, and/or magnets to secure mats in place.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to a tile or panel having at least one magnetic material embedded therein, and fully or partially covered with at least one layer of parchment. The invention also encompasses at least one discrete permanent magnet that is placed at an appropriate location within a panel or tile, and wherein at least a portion of the panel or tile and the at least one magnet are then optionally covered with at least one layer of at least one barrier material, and then at least one parchment layer partially or fully envelopes this assembly. The inventive tile having at least one magnetic type material can have at least one indicia or design on at least one surface, and the inventive tile can be magnetically attached to a wall or another panel having at least one magnetic type material to form a wall or panel surface.

Abstract:
A floor plank having a wear layer, a pattern film, and a magnetic base layer. The floor plank may have a length, a width, and a thickness, wherein the length and the width are substantially larger than the thickness. The magnetic base layer may have a magnetic field which is in a direction substantially parallel to a plane defined by the length and the width of the floor plank, and wherein the direction of the magnetic field is substantially perpendicular to the thickness of the floor plank. The floor plank and an identical floor plank may be placed on the subfloor so that the two floor planks are adjacent one another and so that a magnetic pole of a magnetic base layer of one floor plank is attracted to an opposite magnetic pole of a magnetic base layer of the other floor plank to thereby connect the two floor planks.
