Abstract:
A pump including one or more pumping chambers, one or more drive mechanisms for driving the one or more pumping chambers and a logic arrangement. The first pumping chamber of the one or more pumping chambers has a first inlet check valve, a first outlet check valve and a first temperature sensor. The logic arrangement is configured to identify a leak by applying logic to at least resistance-data indicative of a resistance of the first pumping chamber to the driving and temperature-data at least based on output from the first temperature sensor.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for testing the piston (2) of an injection pump of a pressure medium, the piston comprising a longitudinal groove (2b) that begins from its frontal face (2a) and extends on its side, and a screw-shaped guide edge (2c) that abuts on the envelope surface of the piston. According to the invention, the piston (2) is inserted, with its frontal face (2a) first, into a testing cylinder (1), wherein the clearance between the piston (2) and the testing cylinder (2) is tight and wherein a specific testing pressure is exerted on the envelope surface of the piston, in a limited area, from the vicinity of the said guide edge (2c) to a selected measurement point. The piston (2) is moved in the testing cylinder (1), so that the said measurement point moves, following the guide edge (2c). Changes in the testing pressure are monitored to observe any failures in the piston (2) and the said guide edge (2c).
Abstract:
A sealing system for a pump having a plunger includes a housing having an internal chamber adapted to receive a portion of the plunger. Primary and secondary seals are located within the internal chamber and adapted to sealingly engage the plunger. The primary seal communicates with the fluid being pumped. A barrier fluid chamber contains a barrier fluid in contact with the primary seal and the secondary seal. A pressure referencing device has an inlet port in communication with the pumped fluid and an outlet port providing fluid at a pressure magnitude equal to a peak pressure of the pumped fluid. A pressurizing device is in communication with the fluid at the peak pressure and the barrier fluid to maintain the barrier fluid pressure at a magnitude greater than the peak pressure of the pumped fluid such that the pumped fluid is restricted from leaking past the primary seal.
Abstract:
A method for detection of a fluid leak related to at least one piston machine (1), where the method includes: —attaching a pressure sensor (18, 24) to at least a pressure side of the at least one piston machine (1); —measuring the pressure on the pressure side of the at least one piston machine (1); —attaching a transmitter (28) to the at least one piston machine (1), said transmitter (28) rendering a signal for calculating the rotational speed of the at least one piston machine (1); —calculating the speed of the at least one piston machine (1); —calculating the sum of nominal flow rates from all piston machines (1); —calculating a flow rate compensation factor; —calculating a normalized pressure (42) to be equal to the discharge pressure multiplied by the said compensation factor for the flow rate; and —monitoring the normalized pressure (42) to detect a leakage.

Abstract:
A dynamic compressor control is provided. The dynamic compressor control includes sensors to sense operating parameters of a compressor and a compressor analytic software package. The compressor analytic software package uses the sensed operating parameters of the compressor to generate key performance indicators. The key performance indicators are used to calculate process variables for the compressor. The dynamic compressor control uses the sensed operating parameters and the process variables calculated from the key performance indicators to provide operating alarms and/or shutdowns.
Abstract:
A lubricant pumping system includes a lubricant pump having a lubricant pumping space, a first seal configured to seal the lubricant pumping space, at least one signal detector, and a leakage detector for detecting leakage of a lubricant from the pumping space through the first seal and sending a signal to the signal detector in response to a detection of the leakage of the lubricant. The signal detector may produce a visual or acoustic output in response to receipt of the signal.
