Abstract: A rotary compressor comprises a cylinder having an inner space and a groove, a roller sliding along the inside of the inner space of the cylinder, a vane penetrating through the groove, and refrigerant. The groove penetrates through the outside and inner space of the cylinder. The vane slides on the roller, and the vane also slides in and out of the groove. The vane includes stainless steel formed by sintering of powder material, a nitrogen diffusion layer disposed on the surface of the stainless steel, and a compound layer of iron and nitrogen disposed on the surface of the nitrogen diffusion layer. The stainless steel has a plurality of fine pores formed by sintering of powder material. The plurality of fine pores have a porosity of 15% or less.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A rotary compressor is provided to improve wear resistance of a vane and to exhibit high long reliability. CONSTITUTION: A rotary compressor comprises a cylinder(17), a roller(18) eccentrically rotated in the cylinder(17) by a shaft(14), and a vane inserted in a protruding manner into a through-groove radially formed in the cylinder(17) and making slide contact with the roller(18). The vane contains 9-27% Cr and is formed of an iron powder material having hardening properties containing 4% or more CO. Sintered iron having a single void having a void content of 10% or less is used as a base material. After a substrate is caused to form a martensite texture by quenching and tempering treatment, a compound layer formed of Fe-N is formed on a surface by nitriding or nitrocarburizing treatment and a nitrogen diffusion layer is formed on the inside thereof.
