Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a plasma display panel is disclosed. The method includes forming at least one of a dielectric layer on a principal face of a substrate, barrier ribs which partition a discharging space on the dielectric layer, and a phosphor layer disposed between the barrier ribs using an inorganic material into which solution including a degassing material is impregnated.
Abstract:
In manufacturing a display panel of a PDP, a CRT, or the like, for example, a screen stripe is formed on a panel surface in a production cycle time equivalent to or faster than that of a screen printing system. By using a dispenser of a variable flow rate type for a display panel that has an effective display area in which a paste layer is to be formed and a non-effective display area in which no paste layer is to be formed, outside this effective display area, paste discharge is promptly interrupted when a discharge nozzle runs through the non-effective display area of the display panel.
Abstract:
A triode structure of a field emission display and fabrication method thereof. A plurality of cathode layers arranged in a matrix is formed overlying a dielectric layer. A plurality of emitting layers arranged in a matrix is formed overlying the cathode layers, respectively. A plurality of lengthwise-extending gate lines is formed on the dielectric layer, in which each of the gate layers is disposed between two adjacent columns of the cathode layers.
Abstract:
A display panel provided with at least two arrays of coplanar electrodes Y, Y′ and a network of address electrodes X is described. The network of address electrodes X is formed between the plates bearing these electrodes and has a two-dimensional set of elementary discharge regions. Each elementary discharge region is subdivided into two matrix discharge regions, each located at the intersection of one Y of the coplanar electrodes and of the address electrode X and one coplanar discharge region between the coplanar electrodes Y, Y′. Each matrix discharge region is located closer to the external edge than the internal edge of the coplanar electrode Y with which the matrix discharge region is associated.

Abstract:
An OLED device having pillars, wherein the pillars serve to pattern a conductive layer during deposition. The profile of the pillars covers the edges of at least one functional layer to protect it from exposure to potentially deleterious substances.
Abstract:
A lighting device includes at least one first electrically activated emitter, at least one lumiphor support element comprising a lumiphoric material spatially segregated from the first electrically activated emitter and arranged to receive at least a portion of emissions from the first electrically activated emitter, and at least one second electrically activated emitter disposed on or adjacent to the at least one lumiphor support element. First and second electrically activated emitters having different peak wavelengths may be in conductive with first and second device-scale heat sinks, respectively.
Abstract:
The invention provides a luminescent lamp which comprises a tubular discharge vessel, a power source to maintain a discharge within the discharge vessel and a controller, arranged to control, during operation of the luminescent lamp, the power provided to the tubular discharge vessel by the power source. The lamp further comprises a luminescent material coating, having a coating surface with a coating surface area, coated on the tubular discharge vessel and an optionally optical filter, having a transmission for light emitted by the luminescent material, and having an optical filter area. One or more of(a) the luminescent material is arranged to show different luminescent colours over the coating surface area and (b) the optional optical filter is arranged to show different wavelength dependencies for the transmission over the optical filter area. By varying the power coupled into the discharge tube by means of the controller, the different luminescent materials are addressed (with concomitant different luminescences), respectively, and/or the different optical filters are addressed, respectively. This allows dimming of the luminescent lamp along the BBL.
Abstract:
Provided is a field emission lamp (FEL), which includes a plurality of cathode electrodes formed above a first substrate, an anode electrode formed under a second substrate to face the cathode electrode, a fluorescent layer composed of red, green and blue (RGB) patterns formed alternately on the anode electrode in an oblique direction, and a plurality of emitters formed on the cathode electrodes to correspond to the RGB patterns. According to the present invention, as an FEL having a fast response time is used as a backlight unit, a color breaking phenomenon can be prevented in a color sequential driving method.
