Abstract:
A memory card to be used in an apparatus having an inbuilt processor incapable of independently exporting digital data externally of the apparatus, the digital data being captured by the apparatus, the memory card comprising a central processor configured to control the export of data from the apparatus, a storage module operably connected to the central processor and being configured to store the data to be exported, and a wireless module configured to export the digital data from the storage module and being operably connected to one of: the central processor, and the memory. A corresponding method is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method includes invoking an image capture interface via a mobile device; and analyzing video data captured via the capture interface. The analysis includes determining whether an object exhibiting one or more defining characteristics is depicted within the viewfinder; and if so, whether that object satisfies one or more predetermined quality control criteria. The method further includes displaying an indication of success or failure to satisfy the predetermined control criteria on the mobile device display. Where the object depicted within the viewfinder satisfies the one or more predetermined quality control criteria, the method also includes: displaying an indication that the object depicted in the viewfinder exhibits the one or more defining characteristics; automatically capturing an image of the object; and/or automatically storing to memory one or more of the frames in which the object is depicted in the viewfinder. Systems and computer program products are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method of authentication for a memory card is disclosed. The method comprises using a wireless-enabled mobile telecommunication-enabled apparatus to wirelessly and directly detect and connect to the memory card, the memory card being wireless-enabled. A keypad of the wireless-enabled mobile telecommunication-enabled apparatus is used to enter and wirelessly send directly to the memory card at least one of a user name and an authentication code. A processor in the memory card compares the user name and/or authentication code with a stored user name and/or authentication code in the memory card. Upon the processor validating the user name and/or authentication code, the memory card is activated for use.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus (20) that is adapted to execute information sharing among a plurality of image forming apparatuses (20A, 20B, 20C, 20D) includes a communication circuit (29), a set value management circuit (21a), a storage circuit (30), and a distribution hold list management circuit (21b). The communication circuit (29) is adapted to ensure communication with another image forming apparatus of the plurality of the image forming apparatuses (20A, 20B, 20C, 20D). The set value management circuit (21a) is adapted to distribute, based on a master authority as an authority for distributing a changed set value to the other image forming apparatus, the changed set value to the other image forming apparatus. The storage circuit (30), when the distribution fails, is adapted to store a distribution hold list (30b) that includes a combination of: an identifier of another image forming apparatus, where the distribution has failed, and an item name and value of a set value, where the distribution has failed. The distribution hold list management circuit (21b) is adapted to manage the stored distribution hold list (30b).
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus comprises: a communication unit which performs short-range wireless communication with an external apparatus configured to provide a predetermined function; a first determination unit which determines, based on information obtained from the external apparatus by the communication unit, whether to perform authentication processing in order to utilize the predetermined function of the external apparatus; and an authentication unit which performs the authentication processing if the first determination unit determines to perform the authentication processing.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a system includes a processor and logic executable by the processor. The logic is configured to cause the processor to: capture video data using a mobile device, the video data comprising a plurality of frames; determine whether one or more of the frames depict a document exhibiting one or more defining characteristics; determine whether one or more of the frame(s) determined to depict the document also satisfy one or more predetermined quality control criteria; and in response to determining one or more of the frames depict the document and also satisfy the one or more predetermined quality control criteria, automatically capture an image of the document. Corresponding computer program products are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A document processing system and method includes a first document processing device configured to send a job completion notification subscription, user account information, charge account information, and usage restriction information to a second document processing device, and in response receive job usage information from the second document processing device for each document processing operation completed by the second document processing device, such as printing, scanning, photocopying, and faxing. The first document processing device updates the user account, charge account, and usage restriction information based on the received job usage information, and sends updated user account, charge account, and usage restriction information to the second document processing device.
