In the image reading device, the light guiding member is shaped like a stick, of which end portion is disposed to face the light emitting portion. The holding member holds the light emitting portion and the light guiding member. In addition, the holding member has: and a holding portion that disposes the light guiding member along a main scanning direction, and positions and holds an end portion on the light emitting portion side in the main scanning direction. The case member holds the holding member.
Abstract:
In an image reading apparatus, the linear coefficients of expansion of conveyance drive rollers and a linear coefficient of expansion of the holding unit are determined such that the amount of change in the outer diameter of each of the conveyance drive rollers due to a change in temperature environment is substantially the same as the amount of change in the interval between the first reading unit and the second reading unit due to a change in the temperature environment. The conveyance drive rollers are attached to a rotary shaft such that the positions of head portions of screws are alternately located along the axis direction of the rotary shaft on opposite sides of the outer circumference surface in a direction perpendicular to the axis direction of the rotary shaft.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus for correcting a dislocation of image, pixels being arranged in a first and second directions perpendicular to each other, including: a section which breaks down a correction amount of the image of each pixel in the second direction into a first shift amount with a unit of a prescribed block, a second shift amount with a unit of the pixel, and a third shift amount less than the pixel size; a minimal shift section which shifts the image data by the third shift amount; a pixel unit shift section which shifts the image data by the second shift amount; and a block unit shift section which shifts the image data by the first shift amount, during compression and storage processing of the image data in the block unit, and executing arrangement of the image data after reading-out and expanding the compressed image data.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes a carriage having mounted thereon a linear light source and an image sensor and a reference pattern member disposed at a reference position located toward the first direction from a home position. The current location of the carriage is judged relatively to first and second areas that are divided by a boundary defined in advance at a location toward the first direction from the reference position. The first area is located toward the first direction and the second area is located toward the second direction. Immediately after the power is turned ON, current location information indicating whether the carriage is currently located in the first area or the second area is read from the nonvolatile memory. The carriage is first moved to the reference position and then moved a predetermined distance in the second direction, so that the carriage is duly positioned at the home position.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a laser scanning unit having at least two coupling parts, and a main body frame having a main body coupling part corresponding to each of the coupling parts, at least one of the coupling parts and the main body coupling part having a deformation limiting cut-out to limit a relative deformation of the laser scanning unit coupled to the main body frame.
Abstract:
An optical unit may include an image pick-up device, a lens unit and a holding member. The image pick-up device may convert a reflected light reflected from an original document to an electric signal, after the light is irradiated on the original document from a light source. The lens unit may image the reflected light on the image pick-up device. The holding member may hold the image pick-up device and lenses. The direction of a fluctuation of a focal length of the lens unit caused by heat and a direction of the fluctuation of a distance between the image pick-up device and the lens unit caused by heat may agree with each other.
Abstract:
A system for reading out X-ray information stored in a phosphor layer, includes: a read-out unit having components for irradiating the phosphor layer with stimulation radiation which can stimulate the phosphor layer to emit emission radiation dependent upon the X-ray information contained in the phosphor layer, and for collecting the emission radiation stimulated in the phosphor layer; and a carrier onto which the read-out unit is mounted. At least one of the components of the read-out unit is mounted onto the carrier over at least one first bearing which has a translatory degree of freedom in a first direction. The first bearing enables movement of the at least one component in relation to the carrier in the first direction.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes: a document holder on which a document is placed; a document positioning member, wherein the document is positioned on the document holder according to the document positioning member; an image reading device for reading an image of the document positioned on the document holder; and a correcting device for correcting an inclination of the image read by the image reading device according to an inclination of the document positioning member. The inclination of the document positioning member is an inclination on the document holder for a primary scanning direction.
Abstract:
An imaging optical system for compensating for changes of temperature according to the present invention corrects a focal point for an entire optical system due to temperature change by changing a relative distance between a lens and a light receiving element. To this end, a correcting member, which expands and contracts due to temperature change, is disposed between the lens and the light receiving element. Moreover, the coefficient of thermal expansion is set to such a value so as to be able to substantially correct for the focal point change. According to another aspect of the present invention, the optical system includes a lens system which has at least a positive lens and a negative lens in order to offset the effect of the temperature change.
