Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of allocating a plurality of images that have different scaling factors, on a single sheet, and to provide a computer program. SOLUTION: The maximum number of scaled images to be formed on one original and a scaling factor set for each of the magnified images are accepted by an operation panel 120, a basic scaling factor is read from a table defining the information on the arrangement of the scaled images, original image data acquired in an image reading section 103 are scaled, and scaled images to be allocated on the one sheet are formed. The plurality of formed scaled images are arranged in accordance with the arrangement information defined by the table, and images are formed in an image forming section 105, and thereby a multi-shot copy where a plurality of images having different scaling factors are allocated on one sheet is obtained. Abstract:
A system and method for processing an image of a document is disclosed. The method includes receiving at least one predetermined document parameter of the document. An image of the document is previewed on a display using a camera. The display provides a visual indication of a defect in the image based on the preview. A processor proposes a procedure to minimize the defect in the image. A user adjusts the camera in response to the proposal. The processor processes the image of the document.
Abstract:
A viewing aid includes a camera, a viewing surface within a field of view of the camera, a memory, a display, and software programmed to track a tracking element within the field of view. Viewing material is placed on the viewing surface. The camera, viewing surface, and material all remain substantially stationary. The camera captures and stores an initial image of the material in the memory. The software then tracks the location of a tracking element within the field of view then maps the location to a portion of the initial image in memory using an X-Y coordinate system, and/or identifies character elements of the material adjacent the tracking element then maps the character elements to corresponding character elements of the initial image in memory. An enhanced image is then displayed on the display corresponding to the mapped portion of the initial image.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a magnification device for use by blind and/or low vision individuals. The device includes an X-Y table upon which an item to be magnified can be placed. A stationary camera arm and a pivotal monitor arm are oriented over the X-Y table. The monitor arm includes a video monitor pivotally mounted at its distal end. The camera arm also includes two laterally disposed lighting arms. A series of controls are provided along a lower edge of the monitor via a mounting bracket.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a portable magnifier camera that can be selectively positioned into a variety of configurations. At least four distinct viewing configurations are provided: a reading mode wherein the camera rests flatly upon the viewed object; a writing mode wherein the camera rests at an angle upon the viewed object; a hand-held mode wherein the user holds the camera relative to a distant object; and an inspection mode wherein the user holds the viewed object relative to the camera. These configurations enable a user to effectively view objects of differing size and at varying distances.
Abstract:
A portable facsimile machine (10) for communicating image data to a remote machine, comprising an internal power source (20) and a user input device (28) for communicating with a controller (32) which controls the operation of devices within the machine including a scanner (16, 18) for inputting data representative of a scanned image into a memory (34), a display (12) for a user to view the scanned image stored in the memory and a communication system having a transducer (36) which creates a signal representative of the image data to enable communication of the image data over a telecommunication system to the remote machine.
Abstract:
This invention relates to the thin electronic book on which the picture information of the film tape can be displayed on the thin liquid crystal display by inputting such information as conventional book or photograph on the specially designed film tape. Namely, the picture information of the film tape which is specially designed can be read by using the image sensor, and this signal is displayed on the liquid crystal display through the liquid crystal controller. The electronic book, which is handy, portable like a cassette tape instead of the conventional thick books or reference books which have to be carried.
Abstract:
A method of scanning an image of a document with a portable electronic device includes interactively indicating in substantially real time on a user interface of the portable electronic device, an instruction for capturing at least one portion of an image to enhance quality. The indication is in response to identifying degradation associated with the portion(s) of the image. The method also includes capturing the portion(s) of the image with the portable electronic device according to the instruction. The method further includes stitching the captured portion(s) of the image in place of a degraded portion of a reference image corresponding to the document, to create a corrected stitched image of the document.
