Abstract:
The invention provides an information processing apparatus in which print data is inputted, whether or not authentication information has been added to the print data is discriminated, and an output destination of the print data is controlled on the basis of the discrimination result, thereby making it possible to prevent the print data from being sent to an image output apparatus of a low security level.
Abstract:
An image processing device, which performs an image-related process about an image in cooperation with another image forming device via a network, is provided with a device configuration detection portion for detecting a function that is added to the image processing device itself, and a new function information notifying portion for notifying another image processing device that a function is added to the image forming device.
Abstract:
A method that involves recognizing an incoming FAX call at a destination edge node, the destination edge node supportive of at least two FAX transport manners. A first control packet is sent from the destination edge node to an originating edge node that effectively requests transmission of the FAX call according to one of the FAX transport manners. A second control packet is sent from the originating edge node to the destination edge node that effectively confirms or refuses to confirm transmission of the FAX call according to one of the FAX transport manners.
Abstract:
A method for controlling re-dialing by a calling facsimile system attempting a non-standard capability facsimile operation with a called facsimile system over the public switched telephone network includes the steps of checking for reception of a non-standard facilities (NSF) command from the called facsimile system regarding a requested non-standard capability service and transmitting information to the calling facsimile system as to whether the requested non-standard capability service is executable by the called facsimile system. Upon determining from the received NSF command information that the requested service is not executable by the called facsimile system, an error flag is set by the calling facsimile system and the connection with the called facsimile system is terminated. Upon subsequent re-trying of facsimile operation by the calling facsimile system, detection of the error flag is performed for thereby preventing any re-dialing of the called facsimile system by the calling facsimile system and thus avoiding additional telephone network connection charges.
Abstract:
A receiver image processing apparatus capable of easily performing post-processing in line with a print setting. The receiver image processing apparatus includes printing means able to print image data on a plurality of types of sheets of different sizes. When an incoming call arrives from a sender image processing apparatus, determination means of the apparatus determines whether a setting to perform post-processing on sheets by post-processing means has been made by a setting unit (S801). If it is determined that the setting to perform post-processing has been made, notification means of the receiver image processing apparatus notifies size information representing a sheet size belonging to a predetermined series, as ability information of the apparatus, to the sender image processing apparatus (S802).
Abstract:
This invention has as its object to allow a direct print system to display on a user interface of a digital camera whether or not a printer which can directly communicate with the digital camera has a function of automatically detecting a paper size and the like. To this end, according to this invention, in a print system that includes a digital camera, and a printer which can directly communicate with the digital camera, the printer has transmission means for transmitting information indicating that it has a function of automatically detecting the paper size and type to the digital camera, and the digital camera has a user interface for notifying the user that the printer has that function.
Abstract:
When a print command that designates a layout recording function by its upper layer, and designates a frame print function by its lower layer is transmitted from a camera to a printer, the printer determines a layout print function that prints a plurality of images on a single sheet, based on the upper layer. In a case where the printer can determine the lower layer of the command, the printer acquires details of a layout. In a case where the printer cannot determine the lower layer of the command, the printer determines a normal frame print function. The printer prints a normal layout image or special frame image in accordance with the determined layout of images.
Abstract:
An internet facsimile apparatus and data communication apparatus that can directly exchange capability information of sender and receiver sides and maximize the capability of both sides is provided, by obtaining an IP address of a destination terminal based on the input e-mail address, and by directly transmitting the e-mail to the destination terminal using the IP address of the destination terminal without using mail servers. Also, using the IP address of the destination terminal, a connection is established with the destination terminal to execute a mail protocol that can exchange capability information. After obtaining the capability information of the destination terminal, data format of the sending data is converted to match the capability information of the destination terminal, and the sending data is transmitted by e-mail.
