Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology whereby a terminal which intends to execute proxy response can acquire information about a call in a calling state and make a speech by explicitly designating a proxy response call. SOLUTION: The proxy response terminal includes therein an incoming call information acquisition means for requesting a call controller to transmit information about calls in a calling state and a proxy response request means for issuing a connection request for particularizing the proxy response call on the basis of the information notified from the call controller. Further, the call controller includes therein an incoming call information notice means for notifying the proxy response terminal about the information about the calls in the calling state from terminals of a group to which the proxy response terminal belongs with respect to the incoming call information acquisition request from the proxy response terminal, and a call control means for intermediating a connection request from a calling terminal and the proxy response request from the proxy response terminal. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide full-featured and actionable access to directory assistance query results. SOLUTION: A spoken request for directory assistance is placed through a mobile telephone in a conventional manner and data representing information responsive to the request are put in an easily accessible and actionable database for subsequent retrieval. Actions designed for the type of information, including navigation directions for information which includes a location, are associated with the information and made available to the mobile telephone. Each of these actions is available for a user with only a few key clicks on the reduced keypad of the mobile telephone and initial specification of the place of interest using the same reduced keypad is avoided by allowing the user to simply speak to identify the place of interest. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extended telephony/computer user interface in which functions of a personal computer (PC) and a telephone set are seamlessly integrated into consistent user interface. SOLUTION: Enriched functions utilizing the fact that the PC has a remarkably higher throughput than an ordinary telephone set and has much more access to various data, are imparted to a user. The capability and functionability of the telephone set are remarkably extended to use the throughput and data access advantageously for the user. In outline, an ET user interface 200 includes a plurality of environmental areas 420 which the user can select. These environments include My Contacts environment, communication user setting environment, and Call History environment. Each of the environments includes specific processes and functions available for controlling and managing the telephone set. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of displaying the positions of participants in chatting by preparing and retrieving a chat room on the basis of positional information as to a method for providing a chat room for transmitting/receiving character information or the like between unspecified users in real time. SOLUTION: An area chat management device 1 provided with chat rooms corresponding to specific positions, receives an entry request to which a current position and a message are attached from a portable terminal 3a and distributes a user A to a chat room 110 including the current position in its area. The device 1 informs the terminal 3a of the ID numbers, positions, messages, etc., of other participants including a participant of a terminal 3b and informs other participants of the ID, position and message of the terminal 3a. The terminal 3a receiving the information distinguishably displays the messages and positions of the user A and other participants including the terminal 3b on the screen of the terminal 3a and the terminal 3b distinguishably displays the position of the user B and the position of the terminal 3a of the new entering participant A.
Abstract:
A multimedia call center includes facility for storing copies of transactions associated with the call center in a data repository, relating the transactions according to specific criteria, and an interactive interface for a user to access the files from a graphic string of identifiers representing the files, and to play the files, thereby reviewing the actual transactions. In a preferred embodiment text versions of non-text events may be prepared and related to the non-text stored files in a manner that the related text files may also be selected and reviewed by use of the same interactive interface. By data extraction applied to the text files, the text files and the non-text files associated with some text files may be related to one another by relational criteria, and other informational files may also be related to the stored event files.
