Abstract:
A transient voltage surge suppression device includes a varistor assembly having a compact thickness, and two different disconnect elements responsive to distinct overvoltage conditions to disconnect a varistor assembly prior catastrophic failure thereof. The varistor element (134) assembly comprises an insulating base plate (132) mounted stationary in the housing, the insulating plate having opposed first (160) and second sides (162); and a varistor element (134) having opposed first (150) and second sides (152), one of the opposing first and second sides of the varistor being surface mounted to one of the opposing sides of the plate (132) and the varistor element is operable in a high impedance mode and a low impedance mode in response to an applied voltage. Further, the varistor element is a metal oxide varistor and the insulating plate is a ceramic plate (alumina).
Abstract:
An adaptive-fan-control (AFC) communicating thermostat for controlling an electrical load and controlling an HVAC circulation fan during a load control event. The thermostat interrupts and overrides an occupant-selected fan setting of the thermostat. The AFC communicating thermostat includes a controller in communication with a temperature sensor and the occupant-selectable fan control.

A fuse link auxiliary tube comprises at least one inner layer of paper, at least one layer of polymer film over the at least one inner layer of paper, and at least one outer layer of paper over the at least one layer of polymer film. The at least one inner layer of paper, the at least one layer of polymer film, and the at least one outer layer of paper are wound into a tube shape. An acrylate or acetate layer over the at least one outer layer of paper may be used to structurally reinforce the fuse link auxiliary tube. The paper may be high dielectric strength Kraft paper, fish paper, etc. The polymer film may be polyester film, e.g., MYLAR (R).
Abstract:
A linkable linear light emitting diode (LED) system provides apparatus and method for mechanically, optically, and electrically linking multiple LED modules disposed over a wide and separated area of a ceiling system. Openings can be cut in ceiling tiles of a drop ceiling system and the LED lighting modules are coupled to the tile through the opening, with the tile being sandwiched between different portions of the module. A remote driver system is placed within the drop ceiling above the tiles and provide multiple connectors for powering a multitude of lighting modules. Certain of the LED lighting modules include both input and output connectors for both receiving power or data and providing power or data to other modules. In this manner, some of the modules act as master LED lighting modules and those receiving power and/or data therefrom are act as slave modules.
Abstract:
A lighting control desk includes a housing with a cavity provided within the housing and a control surface. The control surface includes digital displays, encoders, faders, pushbutton switches and a keyboard to assist in controlling different aspects of the light fixtures that are communicably coupled to the lighting control desk. A multitude of light-emitting visual indicators are positioned around one or more of the encoders. The visual indicators provide a visual indication of the color, hue, color saturation, or color intensity of the light fixtures being controlled by that particular encoder as well as the changes that will be effected to the color, hue, color saturation, or color intensity based on how the user may adjust the encoder. One or more light emitting diodes positioned in the cavity are optically coupled to each visual indicator to generate the color of light to be emitted through that particular visual indicator.
Abstract:
An electrical fuse end cap (17, 18, 9) is described comprising an end wall having a concave reinforcement section (173, 94). Alternative configurations of the end cap and the concave reinforcement section are discussed. An electrical fuse (1) having an end cap comprising an end wall having a concave reinforcement section is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A ceiling notification device has a housing; a reflector unit mounted to the housing; a lens positioned over the reflector unit; and a lamp in the center of the reflector unit along the central axis. The reflector unit has a base, a plurality of reflective fins, and a surface portion. The base has a curved surface that is symmetrical about a central axis. The plurality of reflective fins each has a first fin portion extending from the base and a second fin portion extending from the base and the first fin portion, the second fin portion having an inner surface and an outer surface, wherein the inner surface is exposed to the central axis. The surface portion extends from the base and positioned between the first fin portion and an edge of the base and is angled toward an inner surface of the second fin portion.
Abstract:
