Abstract:
The invention relates to a polyamide-imide (PAI) lubricating lacquer which is free of organic solvents, hereinafter referred to as solvent-free, water-based PAI lubricating lacquer, and to the use thereof for the coating of metallic surfaces.
Abstract:
A method for producing and operating for the first time a transmission unit with a lubricant based on water comprises the following steps: a mixture of vaporizable liquid, a comminuted solid lubricant and a preservative (22) are applied (21) to the finished rotary parts (20) and then dried (23), whereby a coating forms on them. The rotary parts with the coating are fitted into the casing of the transmission unit and the assembled transmission unit is filled with a cooling liquid (25), which is primarily water. The transmission unit is put into operation for the first time (27), the lubricant for further operation only being formed by the abrasion of the rotary parts and distribution of the abraded matter in the cooling liquid. The transmission unit is then operationally ready (28). Furthermore, a lubricant produced by this method is described.
Abstract:
An image bearing member protecting agent including: a hydrophobic organic compound (A); an inorganic lubricant (B); and inorganic fine particles (C), wherein each of the inorganic fine particles (C) has a specific surface area of 2.0 m 2 /g to 6.5 m 2 /g.
Abstract:
A threaded joint for steel pipes having excellent galling resistance, rust preventing properties, and airtightness without using a compound grease comprises a pin and a box each having a threaded portion and an unthreaded metal-to-metal contact portion serving as contact surfaces. The contact surfaces of at least one of the pin and the box are coated with a multi-layered structure comprising, from the bottom, a first layer formed from a first metal or alloy, a second layer formed from a second metal or alloy which is softer than the first metal or alloy, and an uppermost layer of a solid lubricating coating comprising a lubricating powder in an organic or inorganic binder.
Abstract:
Dry film lubricant coatings are provided by using a silicone resin binder, either as an aqueous emulsion or in a solvent-based system, to fix an alkaline earth metal fluoride to a substrate. The compositions used to apply the coatings may also include relatively minor amounts of xylene, ammonium benzoate, a wetting agent, and/or a porosity-inducing agent-although none of those additives remains in the cured coating. Multi-layer dry film lubricant coatings are also disclosed, with the multi-layer coating having a basecoat layer as described above, and a topcoat layer made of a layer-lattice solid such as graphite or molybdenum disulfide, and a silicone resin, aluminum phosphate or an alkali metal silicate binder.
Abstract:
A threaded joint for an oil well pipe is provided which prevents the occurrence of galling at the time of repeated tightening and loosening and which provides a high degree of air tightness and has excellent galling resistance and air tightness without using a liquid lubricant such as a compound grease. 1. A lubricating film of an inorganic polymeric compound which has an M (metal element)-O (oxygen) backbone and has a solid lubricant dispersed therein is formed on a threaded portion or an unthreaded metal contact portion. 2. A phosphate film and the lubricating film of the inorganic polymeric compound is formed on the threaded portion or the unthreaded metal contact portion. 3. A Cu plating layer and the lubricating film of the inorganic polymeric compound or a lubricating film of a resin in which a solid lubricant is dispersed is formed on the threaded portion or the unthreaded metal contact portion. 4. A lubricating film of the inorganic polymeric compound or a lubricating film of the polymer and a rust preventing film containing an alkali metal salt of a carboxylic acid or an alkali earth metal salt of a carboxylic acid are formed on the threaded portion or the unthreaded metal contact portion.
Abstract:
A threaded joint for an oil well pipe, characterized as having a screw part and/or a metal-metal contacting part with no screws which have, formed thereon, 1) a lubricating coating of an inorganic polymer having a skeleton of M (metal atom)-O (oxygen) and containing a solid lubricating agent dispersed and incorporated therein, 2) a phosphate coating and the above lubricating coating of an inorganic polymer, 3) a Cu plating layer, and the above lubricating coating of an inorganic polymer or a lubricating coating of a resin containing a solid lubricating agent dispersed and incorporated therein, or 4) the above lubricating coating of an inorganic polymer or the above lubricating coating of a resin, and a rust-inhibiting coating containing an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt of a carboxylic acid. The threaded joint for an oil well pipe can prevent the occurrence of galling in repeated make-up and break-out operations and at the same time secure high oil-tightness, with no use of a liquid lubricating agent such as a compounded grease.
Abstract:
A threaded joint for steel pipes comprising a pin 1 and a box 2 each having a contact surface comprising a threaded portion 3 or 4 and an unthreaded metal contact portion 8 is provided with improved anti-galling propertied by forming a lubricating coating on the contact surface of at least one of the pin and the box, the lubricating coating exhibiting a self-repairing function by liquid lubrication and having a decreased greasiness. The lubricating coating is (1) a coating which comprises a lower lubricant layer which is in liquid form in the temperature range of above 0 °C and below 40 °C and an upper lubricant layer which is in solid form at 40 °C, or (2) a coating which is semi-solid or solid at 40 °C and is formed of a mixture comprising a lubricating oil which is in liquid form in the temperature range of above 0 °C and below 40 °C and a wax which is in solid form at 40 °C, the mixture preferably having been heated so as to liquefy the wax and dissolve in each other the wax and lubricant oil.
