Abstract:
In order to provide an improved handling and preparation of metal sheets or strips, in particular allowing a more secure handling of the metal sheet or strip while achieving at the same time a less laborious and more accurate lubrication before forming of the metal sheet or strip, there is provided a coating of a metal sheet or strip comprising a lubricant and a protective base material, wherein the lubricant is contained in the protective base material and wherein the protective base material is at least in part selectively removable. There is also provided a metal sheet or strip capable of forming, in particular of superplastic forming, and having a coating according to the invention at least partially on one or on both sides of the metal sheet and a method for manufacturing a metal sheet or strip according to the invention comprising the steps of providing a metal sheet or strip capable of forming, in particular of superplastic forming, and applying a coating according to the invention.
Abstract:
A lubricant composition characterized as having a viscosity of less than about 150,000 cP at −40° C., a kinematic viscosity of less than about 150,000 cSt at −40° C., and a kinematic viscosity of at least about 18.5 cSt at 100° C. for use in association with a device involving metal to metal contact of moving parts comprising: (a) base-stock comprising (i) at least one relatively low viscosity polyalphaolefin, (ii) at least one ester, and at least one Group III base oil; (b) viscosity improver comprising (i) at least one relatively high viscosity polyalphaolefin, and (ii) a least one olefin copolymer; (c) a performance additive comprising at least one additive effective to improve at least one property of the lubricant and/or the performance of the equipment in which the lubricant is to be used; (d) at least one pour-point depressant; and, optionally, (e) at least one antifoam agent.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a lubricating composition to be used in the casting of steel, in particular in continuous casting processes. In particular, the present invention concerns a lubricating composition for processes for producing steel in continuous casting comprising a dispersion of a lubricating powder in a liquid medium.

Abstract:
A process for drawing wire employing a lubricant comprising perfluorocarbon compounds (PFCs), including aliphatic perfluorocarbon compounds ( alpha -PFCs) having the general formula CnF2n+2, perfluoromorpholines having the general formula CnF2n+1ON, perfluoroamines (PFAs) and highly fluorinated amines (HFAs), and perfluoroethers (PFEs). Such fully and highly fluorinated carbon compounds exhibit a very high degree of thermal and chemical stability due to the strength of the carbon-fluorine bond. Further, because the compounds are fully fluorinated, and therefore do not contain chlorine and bromine, they have zero ozone depletion potential (ODP). Further, because the compounds are photochemically non-reactive in the atmosphere, they are not precursors to photochemical smog and are exempt from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) volatile organic compound (VOC) definition. Further, because they are volatile, the compounds are easily removed at the end of the process without need for an additional cleaning step. The process provides wire at significantly higher production speeds and longer die life with improved quality and less byproduct debris.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a structural coating comprising a polymeric resin, a borate-based additive, and a dynamic stabilization material. The borate-based additive provides corrosion protection through electrochemical binding of active surface corrosive sites, lubrication enhancement through the creation and re-supply to a surface where friction contact occasionally occurs of a weak slip lane crystalline material which may be a locally formed product utilizing local atmospheric humidity, and a material for reaction with an initiator to provide for freezing point depression during coating application. The dynamic stabilization material creates a balance of stabilized material for supply of corrosion protection product, lubrication reduction product, and freezing point depression product.

Abstract:
A method for treatment of bacterial infections with rifalazil administered once-weekly, or twice-weekly. A method for treatment of tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, infections caused by Mycobacterium avium complex, infections caused by Chlamydia pneumoniae and infections caused by Helicobacter pylori by administering to a patient suffering from the bacterial infection 1-100 mg of rifalazil once or twice a week. In this dose regimen, the treatment is fast, efficacious and eliminates undesirable secondary symptoms observed with daily doses of 1-50 mg of rifalazil.
