Abstract:
A remote controller including a touch screen and a method for operating the same are provided. The user can more conveniently and variously manage and use content and information by easily connecting electronic devices using a remote controller. The remote controller provides various user interfaces to increase user convenience.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a method for remotely controlling peripheral devices in a mobile communication terminal includes acquiring a profile for a controlled device, configuring a control application for the controlled device based on the acquired profile, and controlling the controlled device using the configured control application.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a universal wireless trainable transceiver unit with integrated bidirectional wireless interface functionality, and a method for same. Using a scan, push button or untrained channel mode, a user may enter into a wireless bidirectional interface mode of a trainable transceiver. The interface mode allows a user to select a sub-set of modes that include diagnostics, flash and vehicle interface. Each mode provides the trainable transceiver to communicate wirelessly in a bidirectional manner with another remote device.
Abstract:
A controlling device interacts dynamically with a plurality of appliances using state information known to a master appliance. The master appliance conveys to the controlling device the state information and the controlling device uses the state information to dynamically configure itself to command functional operations of one or more of the plurality of appliances. The master appliance also causes a graphical representation of the current configuration of the controlling device to be displayed on a display device that is associated with the master appliance.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a universal remote controller that transmits and informs the learning of control codes, the setup of the control codes, and the setup of preference channels by voice commands, learns a voice command or key value input according to the voice command transmitted, and registers the leaned key value as the control code. A control codes setup method includes detecting input of a voice command or a specific key signal requesting a control codes setup in a standby mode, starting, when the voice command or specific key signal is detected, a control codes setup mode and transmitting a control codes setup method step by step by voice information, recognizing a voice command or key signal input by a user according to the voice information transmitted, and starting a standby mode after registering and storing the control codes matching with the recognized voice commands or key signals and transmitting voice information on the registering and storing of the control codes.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for programming a universal remote control. The method includes receiving a transmitted signal of unknown modulation technique from a native remote control and characterizing the received signal in parameters of a pre determined modulation technique.
Abstract:
A system and method for controlling a remotely operated device, the remotely operated device controllable by an original transmitter. The system includes a processing circuit configured to receive information based on a first control signal transmitted by the original transmitter. The processing circuit is configured to automatically learn information relating to the first control signal to generate a second control signal. The second control signal is configured to control the remotely operated device based on the information received from the original transmitter. The system also includes a transmitter circuit in communication with the processing circuit. The transmitter circuit is configured to transmit the second control signal to the remotely operated device.
Abstract:
A user provides to an image recognition system an image that is intended to be used to identify one or more appliances that are to be controlled by a universal controlling device. The image recognition system has access to a database of images that have been cross-referenced to appliances and configuration information for those appliances. The image recognition system uses the provided image to identify one or more appliances to be controlled and, accordingly, the configuration information for those one or more appliances so identified. The configuration information may then be provided to a user for manual provision to the universal controlling device or be provided in a form for downloading into the universal controlling device. The configuration information may also be provided to an intermediate device which has programming for use in connection with a process of configuring the universal controlling device.
Abstract:
A universal remote control (100) is described, the universal remote control (100) including a configuration port (155) operative to receive a download of configuration information sent to a device (110), the configuration information defining a communication protocol for sending control information from the universal remote control (100) to the device (110), and a processor (148) operative to determine if the configuration has previously been downloaded to the universal remote control (100) and in response to a negative result of the determining configuration request a downlad of the configuration information from the device (110) to the universal remote control (100), and configure the universal remote control (100) in accordance with the received configuration information thereby configuring the universal remote control (100) to send control information to the device (110). Related methods and apparatus are also described.
