Abstract: The invention relates to a release agent for metal components, in particular a transportation and assembly auxiliary in the powder coating (fluidised-bed sintering, electrostatic or electrokinetic coating) of reinforcement steel for silicate concretes. The invention intends to develop an inexpensive, readily adjustable release agent based on a water-soluble binder, whose adhesion to the metal is less than its adhesion to the coating, and which presents no health risk for people coming into contact with it and conforms to fire-prevention requirements. According to the invention this object is achieved by a homogeneous mixture comprising from 1.4 to 2.5 % by mass of cellulose-glycolic acid, from 44.0 to 52.5 % by mass of an inert inorganic powder such as slate powder, talc, chalk, and from 46.0 to 53.5 % by mass of water. The release agent according to the invention can be employed in general for the demoulding (removal from a mould of metal articles). Temperatures of up to 200@C have only a positive effect on the release process.

Abstract: A composition for coating steel wire to facilitate the cold drawing thereof, said composition comprising: (A) from about 50 to about 99.99 % by weight of a component selected from the group consisting of Na2SO4, K2SO4, and mixtures thereof; (B) from about 0 to about 49.99 % by weight of a component selected from the group consisting of Na2B4O7, NaBO2, K2B4O7, KBO2 and mixtures of any two or more thereof; and (C) from about 0.01 to about 5 % by weight of a component selected from the group consisting of potassium soaps, sodium soaps, and ammonium soaps; wherein the percentages by weight are based on the total weight of components A, B, and C in the composition, and wherein not more than 50 % by weight of the total of sodium plus potassium plus ammonium ions in components A, B, and C of the composition consists of sodium ions.

Abstract: Lubricant is preferably applied in an aqueous dispersion. To prevent coagulation of the solids in the aqueous dispersion on the one hand and to obtain a heat-resistant uniform lubricating film on the other hand, the high-temperature lubricant additionally contains, apart from a solid lubricant, an organic product which decomposes without residue, an inorganic additive of polyphosphate, a boron compound and an alkali metal silicate, and also an organic stabiliser.
