Abstract:
The invention provides a process for preparing a neutral or an overbased detergent, the process by: reacting (a) a pre-prepared suspension comprising (i) a metal base with a mean particle size of 10 micrometres or less; (ii) a surfactant; and (iii) an organic medium in which the metal base is suspended typically by a physical process. An overbased detergent may be formed with a further reaction with acidifying overbasing agent. The invention further provides a lubricant composition containing said neutral and overbased detergent.
Abstract:
A lubricant for refrigerating machines with the use of an ammonia refrigerant which comprises at least one polyether represented by the general formula (I): X{-O-(AO)n-H}p, wherein X represents a residue obtained by eliminating hydroxyl from a monool or a polyol; (AO)n is formed by the copolymerization of EO with AO having at least 3 carbon atoms; n is a number of 2 or more; and p represents the valence of X; wherein, among the hydroxyl groups at the terminal structure, secondary hydroxyl groups amount to at least 50 % of the total hydroxyl groups; or a polyether represented by the general formula (II): X{-O-(AO1)a-(AO2)b-H}p, wherein X represents a residue obtained by eliminating hydroxyl from a monool or a polyol; (AO1)a represents polyoxyalkylene formed by the copolymerization of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide; (AO2)b represents oxyalkylene having at least 3 carbon atoms; a is a number of 2 or more; b is a number of 1 or more; and p represents the valence of X.
Abstract:
This invention provides a release agent for low speed casting, which does not pollute working environment, has a superior running property and lubricating property and further shows a superior cleanability of a die. An aqueous release agent for a low speed injection die casting comprises as main components an inorganic lubricant, spherical resin particles having an average particle size of 0.1-10 mu m, an organic carboxylic acid metal salt and water.
Abstract:
This invention discloses novel catalyzed surface coating additives and catalyzed surface coating systems, which contain one or more catalysts, along with optional other ingredients, wherein the catalysts serve to effect in situ chemical bonding reactions in that the catalysts function to initiate, to promote, to accelerate, and/or to increase the formation and yield of persistent, solid, corrosion resistant, impact resistant, wear resistant, and/or non-stick surface coating films which may exhibit pigmentation and other aesthetic features, and may be designed to be environmentally benign.
Abstract:
A lubricating composition which may contain up to 70 weight percent abrasive grit material for use with wire saw and slicing apparatus for cutting or slicing hard and brittle materials. The composition contains abrasive particles suspended in a mixture of high and low molecular weight polyalkylene glycols and a suspension agent. The viscosity of the composition is about 50 to 700 cps.
Abstract:
To provide a polyalkylene glycol-based refrigerant oil for refrigerators using ammonia as a refrigerant. The present invention provides a lubricant for refrigerators using ammonia refrigerant, comprising polyethers serected from the group consisting of a polyether represented by the following general formula (1)
X-{-O-(AO) n -H} p (1)
(wherein X is a residue of a monool or polyol from which a hydroxyl group is eliminated; (AO) n is a polyoxyalkylene group formed by copolymerization of EO and an AO having 3 or more carbon atoms; n is 2 or more; and p is a valence of X) and having 50% or more of secondary hydroxyl groups among the hydroxyl groups located at the terminal of the structure based on the total hydroxyl groups, or a polyether represented by the following general formula (2)
X-{-O-(AO 1 ) a -(AO 2 ) b -H} p (2)
(wherein X is a residue of a monool or polyol from which a hydroxyl group is eliminated; (AO 1 ) n is a polyoxyalkylene group formed by copolymerization of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide; AO 2 is an oxyalkylene group having 3 or more carbon atoms; a is 2 or more; b is 1 or more; and p is a valence of X).
