    Abstract: A poly(siloxane) copolymer composition comprising: a first polymer comprising a first repeating unit, and a poly(siloxane) block unit, a second polymer different from the first polymer and comprising of bromine; and optionally, one or more third polymers different from the first polymer and second polymer; wherein siloxane units are present in the composition in an amount of at least 0.3 wt %, and bromine is present in the composition in an amount of at least 7.8 wt %, each based on the sum of the wt % of the first, second, and optional one or more third polymers; and further wherein an article molded from the composition has an OSU integrated 2 minute heat release test value of less than 65 kW-min/m2 and a peak heat release rate of less than 65 kW/m2, and an E662 smoke test Dmax value of less than 200.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an epoxy resin composition which comprises a phosphorus-containing modified epoxy resin (A) consisting of a compound (a) represented by Formula (a); a novolak epoxy resin (B); a hardener (C) for epoxy resins; and a metal hydroxide (D), wherein the content in mass % of the phosphorus-containing modified epoxy resin (A), CA, and the content in mass % of the metal hydroxide (D), CD, relative to the total amount of the epoxy resin composition, satisfy the following Formulas (1), (2), and (3): (1) 2.5CA+CD≧45; (2) 6≦CA≦40; and (3) 3≦CD≦30. This epoxy resin composition can give a composite material which has excellent flame retardancy even when neither a halogenated flame retardant, nor red phosphorus, nor a phosphoric acid ester is contained therein. According to the invention, it is also possible to provide a prepreg and a fiber-reinforced composite material obtained using the prepreg.

    Abstract: Provided are a halogen-free flame-retardant resin composition containing a metal hydroxide as a flame retardant, the resin composition having good flame retardancy even when a mixing proportion of the metal hydroxide is reduced and having good print quality, a flame-retardant heat-shrinkable tube formed by using the flame-retardant resin composition, and a flame-retardant insulated electric wire including an insulating coating formed by using the flame-retardant resin composition. The flame-retardant resin composition contains a thermoplastic resin, a metal hydroxide, and a modified silicone having, at an end thereof, a functional group having a carbon-carbon double bond. A content of the metal hydroxide is 85 to 190 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the thermoplastic resin, and a content of the modified silicone is 0.05% to 5% by mass relative to the metal hydroxide. The flame-retardant heat-shrinkable tube is formed by using the flame-retardant resin composition. The flame-retardant insulated electric wire includes an insulating coating formed by using the flame-retardant resin composition.
