Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the lubrication performance of an ester to be used in well fluid. SOLUTION: In the method for improving the lubrication performance of the ester, the ester formed by reaction of a linear or branched 8-24C mono-carboxylic acid (A. 1) with a linear or branched 2-20C polyol (A. 2) and has a molar ratio of acid to alcohol (A. 1:A. 2) of 1:1 to (n-n/10):1 [wherein n is the number of hydroxyl groups of the alcohol (A. 2)] is employed for the improvement of the ester lubrication performance. Thus, the well fluid comprises 50 to 99 wt.% of the ester and 1 to 50 wt.% of the part B composed of at least one of linear or branched 8-24C carboxylic acid in which the mono-carboxylic acid includes a mono-carboxylic acid bearing 1 to 3 unsaturated groups. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-base metal-processing oil containing water and a mist-preventive copolymer. SOLUTION: In the water-base metal-processing oil containing water and the mist-preventive copolymer, the copolymer is produced by copolymerizing a hydrophobic monomer (A) selected the group consisting of A(I) an alkyl-substituted acrylamide compound and A(II) an acrytic ester, and a hydrophilic monomer compound (B) selected from the group consisting of B(I) acrylamidosulfonic acid, B(II) acrylamidodisulfonic acid and B(III) styrenesulfonic acid, wherein when (A) is A(I), the molar ratio of (A) to (B) ranges 95:5 to 25:75, and when (A) is A(II), the molar ratio of (A) to (B) ranges 90:10 to 25:75. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metalworking oil composition having excellent workability to a hardly workable material such as iron-based metal material, chromium-based metal material, nickel-based metal material or thick aluminum plate, composed of a non-chlorine working oil and, nevertheless, having a workability superior to a chlorine-based working oil. SOLUTION: The metalworking oil composition contains (B) a bentonite clay mineral treated with an organic material and (C) an active sulfur compound in (A) a base oil. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
A liquid anticorrosion composition adapted for application to ferrous tubular goods is provided comprising an aqueous solution of cyclohexylammonium benzoate and a benzoate salt, which is preferably prepared by reacting cyclohexylamine with excess sodium benzoate in an aqueous alcohol solvent. A sealable thread protector end cap which protects the precisely machined threads from physical abuse and which isolates or seals from the environment the corrosion inhibitor composition is also provided.
Abstract:
Waterborne lubricants comprising: (A) water-soluble inorganic salt; (B) homogeneously dispersed solid lubricant; (C) at least one homogeneously emulsified substance selected from mineral oils, animal and plant oils and fats, and synthetic oils; (D) surfactant; and (E) water, in which the weight ratio (B)/(A) is from 0.05:1 to 2:1 and the weight ratio {C/(A + B)} is from 0.05:1 to 1:1, provide a one-step, highly lubricating waterborne lubricant for use in the cold plastic working of metals. This waterborne lubricant can replace the conversion coating treatment (phosphate, oxalate, etc.) + reactive soap treatment combined lubrication system now in general use and is free of the environmental issues associated with the combined lubrication system, provides for facile coating removal, and is not subject to the decline in seizure resistance caused by nonuniform add-on when large numbers of workpieces are treated together by immersion.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of inhibiting the growth of microorganisms in a metal working fluid comprising adding to the metal working fluid a benzisothiazolin-3-one of the Formula (1): wherein R is C4-5-alkyl; R is hydroxy, halogen (especially chlorine), C1-4-alkyl or C1-4-alkoxy; and n is from 0 to 4.
