Abstract:
Provided is a heat conductive silicone grease composition including (A) 100 parts by mass of an organopolysiloxane containing 2 or more alkenyl groups bonded to silicon atoms within each molecule, (B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane containing 2 or more hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon atoms within each molecule, in sufficient quantity to provide from 0.1 to 5.0 hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon atoms within the component (B) for each alkenyl group within the component (A), (C) 100 to 2,200 parts by mass of a heat conductive filler, (D) an effective quantity of a platinum-based catalyst, and (E) an effective quantity of an addition reaction retarder, in which the component (C) includes more than 90% by mass and no more than 100% by mass of an indium powder with an average particle size of 0.1 to 100 μm. Also provided is a heat conductive silicone cured product obtained by curing the above composition by heating at a temperature equal to, or greater than, the melting point of the indium powder. Further provided is an electronic device including an electronic component, a heat radiating member, and a heat conductive member including the above cured product disposed between the electronic component and the heat radiating member. Still further provided is a method of curing the above composition. Even further provided is a method of forming a heat conductive member between an electronic component and a heat radiating member. The above heat conductive silicone grease composition generates a suitably thin cured product with excellent thermal conductivity that prevents problems such as the contamination of components other than the coated component, and the leakage of oily materials from the product if used over extended periods.

The invention concerns a powder metal composition comprising an iron based powder and a lubricant and/or binder comprising at least one secondary amide of the general formula: R1—NH—CO—R2, wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different, straight or branched, saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon groups. The invention further concerns a method of making green bodies of the powder metal composition according to the invention, a method of producing a bonded iron-based powder composition, as well as the use of the at least one secondary amide as a lubricating and/or binding agent for iron based powders and the use as a die wall lubricant.
Abstract:
An endoscope which has small bending resistance and is hard to be damaged or broken even when it is repeatedly used is disclosed. The endoscope includes a flexible insertion section 2 and an operation section 7 provided on the proximal end of the insertion section 2. The insertion section 2 has a sheath constructed from an outer layer 382 and the like, and elongated members such as an image guide 31 and light guides 32, 32 and the like are housed in lumens in the sheath. Further, each light guide 32 has an optical fiber bundle and a protective sheath 321 for protecting the optical fiber bundle. In the interior space of the protective sheath 321, a lubricant 5 containing a silicone oil and a solid lubricant is provided. The solid lubricant contains at least one of boron nitride, poly tetrafluoroethylene, and molybdenum disulfide. The solid lubricant is preferably formed into powder having an average grain size of 0.1 to 15 μm. By providing the lubricant 5 in the interior space of the lumen, bending resistance of the insertion section is reduced so that damage, breakage, or the like is hard to occur in the elongated members.
Abstract:
A lubricating grease is specific for a rock bit for drilling subterranean formations. The rock bit body includes a plurality of journal pins, each having a bearing surface, with a cutter cone mounted on each journal pin and also including a bearing surface. A grease reservoir provides lubricating grease to such bearing surfaces. The grease composition adjacent the bearing surfaces comprises a lubricating base oil, sufficient thickener and additives in the base oil to form a rock bit grease, and an effective amount of polarized graphite.

Compositions and methods for ballistic conditioning firearm projectiles, firearms, and firearm components such as bores of barrels, by applying to such items a conditioning composition selected from the group consisting of hexagonal boron nitride, graphite, tungsten disulfide, antimony trioxide, talc, mica, and mixtures thereof, suspended in a carrier comprising a volatile solvent, and a binder selected from the group consisting of cellulosic-, alkyd- and acrylic-resins.
Abstract:
The invention aims to provide a rolling bearing that secures a sufficient bearing life economically even when used under such conditions that water from the outside or water formed by moisture condensation may seep into the lubricant or the bearing is affected by the vibrations, and particularly a rolling bearing suited to the electric parts and accessaries of au automobile engine, such as an alternator. To accomplish the object, the hydrogen ion exponent pH of the grease sealed into the inside of the bearing is adjusted in a range of from 7 to 13. For the same purpose, the hydrogen ion exponent pH of the grease is adjusted in a range of from 5 to 13 where a prescribed amount of an organic metal salt or ADTC is added to the grease, where a prescribed amount of an inorganic compound having an average particle size of 2 nullm or smaller is added to the grease, or where a diurea compound containing an aromatic amine or a mixture of the diurea compound is added to the grease as a thickener.
