SOLUTION: This filter device 1 is provided with a casing 2 including an inlet 3 and an outlet 4 of fuel and the filter element 25 installed between the inlet 3 and the outlet 4 in the casing 2 and filtering foreign matter such as dust contained in fuel. A partition wall 8 is provided in the casing 2 and the inside of the casing 2 is partitioned to a primary transportation system 9 communicating to the outlet 3 located in an upstream side of the filter element 25 and a secondary transportation system 10 located in a downstream thereof. The primary transportation system 9 is composed of a first space 12, a separation reservoir chamber 16 and a third space 22. Moisture in fuel is separated by gravity and reserved in the separation reservoir chamber 16 and fuel not containing moisture is introduced to the filter element 25.
