Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide flow-through fluid reservoirs, including axial reservoirs. SOLUTION: The flow-through fluid reservoir 10 includes a body and a member 60 moved by an actuator 80 to increase and decrease the volume of a chamber. The movable member 60 has a fluid path 70 therethrough a first fluid port 26 of the body and a second fluid port 88 of the actuator communicating with the movable member. The slot 100 of the actuator and a projection 40 on the body constrain the movement of the actuator. The slot 100 includes a stop 106 intermediate, and a canted portion 122 is used to initiate relative movement of the member 60. The body includes an end wall with which the first fluid port communicates. A shroud 28 is defined by a coaxial extension of the sidewall 14 beyond the end wall to surround the first fluid port, and gripping elements 30 are provided on the shroud. The projection includes a vent 42 communicating into a space between a flexible barrier 140 and the internal wall of the body. The slot has one-way opening with a cammed roof 132. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high flow humidifier for individual to deliver high-flow heated and humidified respiratory gas used with a nasal cannula for treatment and therapeutic cost down of respiratory regimen. SOLUTION: An improved humidifier which may be used with a nasal cannula 9 for high-flow respiratory gas therapy wherein a sterilized liquid is drawn from a sterilized liquid container by a high-flow driving gas passing adjacent to an aspirator tube orifice 28 through which the sterilized liquid is drawn into contact with the driving gas for fracturing the liquid into a mist which is warmed and delivered to the patient or user, and the driving gas is also passed adjacent a condensate return orifice which draws any condensate formed in the humidified respiratory gas delivery system away from the cannula and back into the system for re-use. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety package that is both convenient to use and transport; to provide a safety package that is kept sterilized, yet at the same time takes up less space than prior art packages; and to provide a different locking mechanism which fixedly retains a housing at a desirable position to envelop a needle. SOLUTION: A needle protection safety package (2) needs not to be enclosed in a pouch or other housing wrappings, is fitted with a cap (28) and a sheath (40) at the ends, respectively, so that both a needle (14) and an end (10) to which a syringe is adapted to fit is kept enclosed and sterilized. Such an arrangement enables easy transport of the safety package and provides convenience for the user at the same time. The safety package (2) is further designed to prevent bending of the tip of the needle when the cap or sheath is removed from the needle portion of the package. A further embodiment of the safety package incorporates a locking mechanism (60, 62) which prevents contact between the needle and the housing as the housing is pivoted to envelop the needle after use. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptor adapted to be placed between a medicine feeding device and a connector so as to prevent an erroneous connection of a liquid line to a device for accommodating a specific medicine.SOLUTION: An adaptor 2 is connected to a connector 4, which is shown to include two portions 6 and 8. The portion 6 includes a predetermined connector end 10, which includes a pair of protrusions 12 for coupling itself to the adaptor 2. The connector end 10 can be connected to a female end of the connector of a luer connector 16 of a filter 14. The filter 14 is inserted between the connector 4 and the adaptor 2, and filters either a medicine to flow from a medicine supply device such as a syringe or a pump to the connector 4 or a pollutant which may exist in a liquid. The filter 14 includes not only the luer connector 16 but also a second connector 18 having a construction similar to that of the connector end 10 of the connector 4, and can connect the filter to the adaptor 2.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection needle assembly designed to be mounted to an adapter for accurate connection to a special prescription container and a medication line.SOLUTION: An injection needle hub includes: a base; and a housing connected to the base to freely revolve. The base has a tip part for receiving an injection needle 10, and a locking mechanism shaped like an anchor projection is formed in the longitudinal direction along the tip part. A second locking mechanism projected from the rear wall is formed on the rear wall of the housing. The second locking mechanism is formed in the shape of two gripping projections, an inside hook is formed on the housing, the housing and the base revolve each other, an injection needle touches the hook, and the respective locking mechanisms of the base and the housing touch each other, so that the locking mechanisms are coupled to each other, and the injection needle is coupled to the hook. As a result, the locking mechanisms are connected to each other, and the injection needle is firmly held by the hook in the housing. The locking mechanism includes: a hook and a rib-shaped latch having an opening to which the hook is firmly coupled.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subcutaneous infusion device having a site and a set for delivery of a medicine to a patient.SOLUTION: The site includes a cannula to be inserted into a subcutaneous layer of the skin of the patient. The set can be coupled to the site by placing the set on the site and moving the set from an unlocked position to a locked position. The set can be attached at multiple rotational positions with respect to the site, and can be coupled and uncoupled with the site multiple times. Moreover, a device for inserting a cannula of the subcutaneous infusion device into a subcutaneous layer of the skin of the patient is provided. Some devices automatically retract a needle used to introduce the cannula of the subcutaneous infusion device into a subcutaneous layer of skin of a patient. Upon full introduction of the needle and associated cannula of the subcutaneous layer of skin of a patient, the device moves the needle to a retracted state.
