Abstract:
A system and method for Acoustic Echo Cancellation. The system and method include a subband affine projection filter and a variable step size controller configured to cancel an estimated echo from a near-end signal. The system and method also include a divergence detector adapted to reset the subband affine projection filter in response to determining a divergence is occurring. Additionally, the system and method include a double talk detector adapted to transmit a signal to mask an output signal when double talk is detected.

A medical gown includes a main body having a neck edge, a first side edge, and a second side edge. The first side edge may extend from the neck edge. The second side edge may extend from the neck edge, opposite the first side edge. The neck edge may define a neck engagement feature between the first and second side edges. The medical gown may further include a first strap feature coupled with the main body and defining a first loop with the first side edge. The medical gown may further include a second strap feature coupled with the main body and defining a second loop with the second side edge.
Abstract:
Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for selecting a carrier frequency mode based on wireless device mobility. In a particular embodiment, a method comprises, in a wireless access node, providing wireless communication access to a plurality of wireless communication devices over a plurality of carrier frequencies. The method further provides determining a mobility level of the plurality of wireless communication devices and selecting one of a first communication mode or a second communication mode for at least one of the plurality of carrier frequencies based on the mobility level, wherein the first communication mode allows full wireless access functionality and the second communication mode allows less than full wireless access functionality. The method further provides exchanging communications on the at least one of the plurality of carrier frequencies using the one of the first communication mode or the second communication mode that is selected.
Abstract:
Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for carrier frequency assignment based on transmit power differentials. In a particular embodiment, a method comprises determining first power levels of first carrier frequencies transmitted from a first wireless network base station and determining second power levels of second carrier frequencies transmitted from a second wireless network base station. The method further comprises determining transmit power differentials between the first power levels and the second power levels for corresponding ones of the first and second carrier frequencies. The method further comprises assigning a wireless communication device to one of the first carrier frequencies based on the transmit power differentials.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed herein for adjusting a control channel timer based on control communication traffic on a control channel. In a particular embodiment, a method provides exchanging data packets with a wireless network over a wireless traffic channel assigned to a wireless device. The method further provides monitoring control communications from the wireless network over a wireless control channel and adjusting a control channel timer that indicates a time period that the wireless device should continue to monitor the control communications based on a level of control communication traffic. The method further provides releasing the assigned traffic channel in response to the expiration of a dormancy timer. In response to the release of the traffic channel, the method provides starting the control channel timer. In response to the expiration of the control channel timer, the method provides stopping the monitoring of the control communication traffic.
Abstract:
A Yule-Walker based, low-complexity voice activity detector (VAD) is disclosed. An input signal is typically noisy speech (i.e., corrupted with, for example, babble noise). In one embodiment, a first initialization stage of the VAD computes an occurrence of a silent period within the input signal and the AR parameters. The VAD could accordingly compute a tentative adaptive threshold and output hypothesis H1 (which means speech is present) during this stage. During the second initialization stage, the VAD generally builds a database of associated values and computes the adaptive threshold accordingly. The second initialization stage could also output tentative VAD decisions based on the tentative threshold computed in the first initialization stage. Finally, the VAD periodically retrains or updates AR parameters, threshold values and/or the database and outputs VAD decisions accordingly.
Abstract:
A wireless communication system provides a wireless communication service over multiple frequency band classes. The system monitors the amount of active mode users and idle mode users in the frequency band classes. The system selects one of the frequency band classes for a wireless communication device based on the amount of active mode users and idle mode users in the frequency band classes. The system provides the wireless communication service to the wireless communication device over the selected one of the frequency band classes.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and media for identifying areas of outbound roaming on a wireless network are disclosed. A roaming-network event record listing roaming events of subscribers of a home network is received. A home-network event record listing network events on a home network is also received. The two records are correlated to identify roaming events and network events having matching caller identifiers and time stamps within a predetermined range. Location data of a network event is adopted as location data for a matching roaming event. A home-network wireless-communications antenna, tower, or station having a service area in which a concentration of roaming events have occurred is identified. The distance of the roaming events from the antenna is determined and distance bands corresponding to that distance are plotted on a map to aid in identifying locations at which outbound roaming has occurred.
Abstract:
A system and method is disclosed for implementing a multipoint control unit in an endpoint that is participating in and managing a multipoint audio conference in a packet network. The multipoint control unit establishes audio communications between a plurality of endpoints of the packet network, mixes audio communications from the plurality of endpoints, and provides echo cancellation for the endpoint that is managing the multipoint audio conference.
