Abstract:
A system and method for a vehicle is disclosed. Memory stores user profiles for a plurality of users. Each of the user profiles includes setting inputs for vehicle components and includes a wireless connection identifier for a wireless user device. The user selects his user profile in a user interface. A controller receives the selection from the user interface and obtains the setting inputs and the wireless connection identifier form the selected user profile in memory. The controller initiates one or more commands to the vehicle components having obtained setting inputs. In addition, the controller initiates a wireless connection between the wireless vehicle device and the wireless user device of the user using the wireless connection identifier.
Abstract:
Described herein is a non-invasive determination of locations of neural activity in a brain. In particular, methods and systems have been developed that utilize a FINES algorithm for use in three-dimensional (3-D) dipole source localization to locate neural activity in a brain.
Abstract:
The invention provides a novel Bin1b protein, and its encoding polynucleotide. Bin1b protein is a natural antimicrobial peptide and associates to sperm maturation. The invention also discloses the preparation and uses of Bin1b protein and nucleic acid. Bin1b protein is useful to treat various diseases, e.g, urogenital infection. The invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition containing Bin1b protein.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for separation of fine particles in a bimodal (two component) dense medium. In accordance with the present invention, the dense medium comprises ferromagnetic particles that have a relative density range from about 4.0 to 7.0 suspended in water and are characterized by a bimodal size distribution. Such a medium exhibits high stability and favourable rheological properties. The use of such a bimodal magnetite dense medium in cleaning fine coal in a dense medium cyclone or dynamic dense medium separator results in optimum separation efficiency when the medium contains approximately 20-40% fine and 60-80% coarse magnetite, and when the size ratio of coarse-to-fine magnetite is in the range of 5 to 10.
Abstract:
A system and method for non-invasively generating a report of cardiac electrical activities of a subject includes determining, using cardiac electrical activation information, equivalent current densities (ECDs). The ECDs are assembled into time-course ECD information and a spectrum of the time-course ECD information is analyzed to determine peaks for spectral characteristics of atrial fibrillation (AF). The spectral characteristics of AF are correlated with potential electrical sources of the AF and a report is generated indicating the potential electrical sources of the AF spatially registered with the medical imaging data.
Abstract:
A method and system are disclosed for use with an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process, comprising optimizing a filter expression to select a subset of data and evaluating the filter expression on the data after the extracting, before the loading, but not during the transforming of the ETL process. The method and system optimizes the filtering using a pipelined evaluation for single predicate filtering and an adaptive optimization for multiple predicate filtering. The adaptive optimization includes an initial phase and a dynamic phase.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a DCS/WCDMA dual frequency multiplexer. On one hand, the multiplexer utilizes distributed parameter type capacitors in place of conventionally used capacitors. On the other hand, within the multiplexer, a direct circuit and a RF circuit are isolated from each other physically. All components including capacitors co-exist together physically. Similarly, the invention further discloses a dual frequency multiplexer with large application range. It also utilizes the distributed parameter type capacitors like the DCS/WCDMA dual frequency multiplexer. Because the invention has redesigned the entire construction of the multiplexer, it results good effects such as small size, less differential loss, large power capacity, as well as high isolation degree between circuits.
Abstract:
A method for positioning in a communication network with a cellular coverage is disclosed, wherein comprising the following steps: receiving location-dependent data concerning a mobile device; from a plurality of fingerprints, each of which corresponds to one of locations within the coverage, retrieving one having the highest similarity to the location-dependent data; and determining the location corresponding to the fingerprint with the highest similarity as the mobile device's location if the highest similarity exceeds a predetermined threshold.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention provide a system, method and computer program products for information retrieval from multiple documents by proximity searching for search queries. A method includes generating an index for the multiple documents, wherein the index includes words in snippets in the documents. An input search query is processed against the index by searching query terms over the snippets to introduce term proximity information implicitly in the information retrieval. Results of multiple sentence level search operations are combined as output.
