Abstract:
The invention disclose halogen free thermoplastic or cross linked polymers compositions comprising a polyolefin and/or a polyolefin containing polar co-monomers and a combination of metal hydroxides and inorganic hypophosphite as a synergic, and optionally other ingredients. These compositions show a superior balance of flame retardant properties compared to already known corresponding halogen free formulations. Molded items obtained using the polymer composition according to the present invention are useful in a wide range of injection molding and extrusion applications, especially cables.

The present invention relates to halogen-free flame retardant compositions essentially comprising polyamide polymers (preferred is polyamide 6), at least a hypophosporous acid metallic salt (preferred is aluminium hypophosphite), at least a nitrogen based flame retardant agent (preferably selected among melamine condensation products such as melam, melem, melon or their mixtures, and melamine cyanurate), at least an organic polyhydric compound and optionally further conventional components. Such compositions are highly flame retardant.

The invention pertains to a copolymer suitable for the use in or as a lubricant, which copolymer is consisting of an α-olefin and a di-ester of an α,β ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid. More particularly, the invention pertains to a high molecular weight lubricating oil base fluid or additive comprising a copolymer of α-olefins with chain lengths for example from 12 to 18 carbon atoms and a di-ester of an α,β ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, with a C 3 -C 7 alkylic alcohol, for example n-butanol, as esterifying component which is compatible with other low polar lubricating oil base fluids.

The present invention relates to a thermoplastic halogen-free flame retardant composition comprising at least an hypophosphorous acid metal salts as halogen-free flame retardant agent, and at least an aromatic polycarbonate s resin and/or its blends. The flame retardant composition may in addition comprise additives and fillers. The invention also refers to moulded thermoplastic articles made by using the flame retardant composition.
