    Abstract: The AM receiver comprises an input stage(11, 12) for receiving the compatible stereo signal of (I+L+R)cos(Wct+0) and translating the signal to an intermediate frequency signal. A detector(16) is coupled to the input stage for providing the output signal which is proportional to the (L-R)cos. A corrector circuit(17, 22, 23, 25) which is coupled to the detector(16) provides a correctional signal for use in restoring exact sum and difference signals.

    Abstract: The cam assembly for a multi-track tape player recorder is rotatable to cause a cam follower(23) to assume different presselected positions. The follower adjusts the position of a magnetic tape head(11) relative to a tape to select a given tape track for sensing by the head. The cam assembly(10) includes a disc of variable thickness but constant radius within which ball bearings of different dia. are housed. Each ball is located in a recess in the cam and, when moved to an operative position, determines the position of the follower by virtue of its dia.

    Abstract: A resistor is inserted between the audio signal and the primary winding of a modulating transformer used in an amplitude modulated transmitter. The value of the resistor is selected to limit the peak signals into a transformer thereby limiting the peak instantaneous index of modulation to less than 100%. A capacitor, coupled to the transformers secondary winding, forms a low pass filter with the impedance of the resistor as transformed by the turns ratio of the transformer. The resulting low pass filter attenuates undesired harmonics.

    Abstract: The blanking cct. (10) includes a filter(32) which attenuates signals in the selected information passband of the receiver, and a sampling passband is chosen which contains the same noise signals that are found in the information passband. The filter is coupled to the portion of the receiver which receives radio signals prior to the circuitry which selects the information passband of frequencies. The signals passed by the filter are processed to generate blanking signals in response to the filtered signals.

    Abstract: A bimorph bender(10) for driving a mechanical member, reliably handling high power levels & maintaining a high electromechanical coupling factor comprises a pair of circular piezoelectric discs(12, 14) each one of which has a central coupling hole(22, 24), electrodes(16, 18) contiguous with the surfaces of each disc, & a center vane(20) spacing the discs & aligning the hales to form a coupling cavity. A high stiffness insulating washer(26) is fixed in the cavity to the hole surface(22, 24) of each disc by alumina-filled epoxy cement & maintains a high mechanical stress force across the bender.
