PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for damping vibrations of a beam structure of a paper machine, a cardboard machine or a subsequent treatment device therefore. SOLUTION: In the method for damping vibrations of a static beam structure (1) of the paper machine, the cardboard machine or a subsequent treatment device thereof, a beam (1) is provided with a mass damper (3). The state of the system made up of the mass damper and beam is adjusted to allow measurement of a quantity indicating a resonance of the beam (1), and the position of the mass (5) in the damper (3) is varied so that an optimum damping is generated for at least one impulse. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for drying paper/paperboard web by pressing in a processing apparatus. SOLUTION: In the method, the processing apparatus includes a belt 2 adapted to extend around a guiding element 3, at least one counter element 5 being disposed on the outside of the belt 2 to provide a contact area with the belt 2, and the belt 2 and the counter element 5 establish therebetween a web processing zone for passing a web W to be processed therethrough. In the method, pore volume are formed on both sides of the web W, the pore volume on at least one side of the web W is formed in a compressible felt/wire and carried, the volume is compressed and the felt/wire is compressed, and at the same time the gas pressure in the pore is increased and as the result a gas flow which is directed to the web W is generated, and water penetration toward the other side pore volume of the web W is produced. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the runnability component in a paper machine comprising at least a frame plate (31, 32) elongated along the cross direction of the paper machine, at least a profile (7, 8) elongated along the cross direction of the machine and attached on the frame plate by a fastener, and a blow nozzle (21) provided with a nozzle slot (26) elongated in the cross direction includes the profile (7, 8) formed inside, and the profile is attached in the cross direction of the machine on at least one frame plate without welding. SOLUTION: The press part of a web former comprises at least three press nips (10, 11, 12). About the first press nip (10), first and second press cloths (23, 14) for removing water through both surfaces of a web are provided. About the second and third press nips (11, 12), third and forth press cloths (15, 16) are provided and water is transferred to the third and forth cloths (15, 16). And about the second and third press nips (11, 12), a transfer belt array (17) is provided. The transfer belt array (17) comprises two transfer belts (18, 19). PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable crown roll capable of polishing a shell while assembling the roll. SOLUTION: This roll has a fixed trunnion 9, and a composite material shell 10 rotating around the fixed trunnion. The composite material shell has a first end part, a second end part and a load element Z supported on the fixed trunnion for applying a load to the shell. The load element includes a first cylinder 11, a first piston 12 fitted in the first cylinder and at least one sliding shoe 20 supported on the first piston. At least one load element can be locked on a desired position by locking devices 100, 300 and 400, by including at least one locking device adapted by joining the roll to at least one load element.
