Abstract: A luminous woven fabric comprises a woven textile support comprising warp yarns and weft yarns selected from binding yarns and optical fibers capable of emitting light sideways. The binding yarns comprise glass yarns representing at least 50% by weight relative to the total weight of the binding yarns forming the woven textile support.

Abstract: The invention relates to an aqueous binder composition containing, relative to the total dry weight of the binder composition, 10 to 40% by weight of a hydrogenated sugar, 25 to 55% by weight of citric acid, 25 to 50% by weight of a polysaccharide, and 1 to 10%, preferably 2 to 6%, by weight, of sodium hypophosphite or hypophosphorous acid. The polysaccharide is dissolved in the aqueous binder composition and chosen from functionalized starches and dextrins having a weight-average molar mass of between 150,000 and 2,000,000 and a solubility in water of between 50 and 85%. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing non-woven webs based on mineral or organic fibers using such a composition and the non-woven webs thus obtained.

Abstract: A method of making a glass mat includes providing an assembly of glass fibers, applying a binder composition to the assembly of glass fibers, wherein the binder includes an organic resin, and curing the binder composition while dimensionally constraining the assembly of glass fibers. Dimensional constraining includes directly contacting a first major surface and a second major surface of the assembly of glass fibers between two substantially parallel surfaces. Further provided is a glass mat that includes an assembly of glass fibers, wherein the assembly of glass fibers are substantially randomly oriented with a tensile anisotropy of less than about 6 in any two directions. The glass mat has a decreased surface roughness and a decreased caliper compared to an equivalent glass mat having an assembly of naturally packed glass fibers with an equivalent fiber diameter size.

Abstract: The invention is drawn to a method of making a fire-resistant mine-grid comprising the following steps: providing a poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) plastisol, providing a polyester yarn mesh fabric, coating the polyester yarn mesh fabric with the PVC plastisol, heating the coated fabric for about 5 to 20 minutes, more preferably for about 5 to 15 minutes, to a temperature comprised between 110° C. and 150° C., so as to effect gelatinization of the PVC plastisol and form a plasticized PVC coating enveloping the polyester yarns of the mesh fabric, wherein the PVC plastisol, comprises (a) a poly(vinyl chloride) base resin, (b) from 60 to 140 phr of a primary plasticizer which is tris-(2-chloro-isopropyl)phosphate (TCPP), (c) from 40 to 140 phr of a secondary plasticizer, (d) from 145 to 230 phr of an inorganic filler.
