Abstract:
An extraction region to be corrected/edited is set on a display device (3) on the basis of a display content displayed on the display device based on data input from, e.g., an external storage device, and a display content in the region is displayed in an enlarged scale on an integrated handwriting input/display device (1a, 1b). A correction/edit operation is performed on the integrated handwriting input/display device (1a, 1b) using a stylus pen (1k), and a content changed by the correction/edit operation is displayed on the display device (3) in real time.
Abstract:
A potable computer (1) comprises a base unit to which a keyboard (7) and a display unit (3) are attached. A first and second batteries (68) (100), functioning as a drive power source, and an optional component (101) are attached to the base unit (2). The optional component (101) is used to expand a function of a modem device to be connected to a telephone line when using and that of an add-in memory. In the base unit (2), there is formed a first mounting recess (60) to which the first battery (68) is detachably attached, and a second mounting recess (61) to which the the second battery (100) or the optional component (101) is selectively detachably attached.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a cache system comprising a cache memory. This cache system uses a resident bit in each entry of a directory memory (35₁) and a resident designation bit in the read command, in such a way that a data block specified by a disk read instruction resides in the cache memory at least until the resident bit is reset in response to the resident designation bit in the read command, in order to achieve a high performance of the disk structure.
Abstract:
The magnetic disk device of the present invention is configured so that a stopper (6) for controlling the movement of a carriage arm (4) is adapted to give rise to play in controlling the carriage arm (4) when the stopper (6) is in the closed state. When disk rotating means (2) is to be actuated, therefore, this magnetic disk device permits a disk (1) and a magnetic head (3) in the state of fast mutual adhesion to be separated from each other by causing the carriage arm (4) to swing with the stopper (6) kept in the closed state and consequently enables the disk (1) to rotate without fail.
