Abstract: The present invention relates to a bicycle and, more specifically, to a bicycle driven by pedals operated in reciprocating motion within a fixed angle range, the bicycle comprising: a trussed structure frame having a seat and a handle installed on the upper part thereof and wheels on the front and rear thereof; a driving sprocket wheel installed on the lower end of the frame; a driven sprocket wheel installed on a hub of a rear wheel and connected to the driving sprocket wheel by a driving chain; a crank shaft inserted into the center of the driving sprocket wheel to transmit torque to the driving sprocket wheel; first and second ratchets installed both ends of the crankshaft respectively; first and second lever units having ends connected to the first and second ratchets respectively to transmit the torque to the first and second ratchets, and pedals installed on the other ends respectively; a transmission unit connected to the first and second lever units to allow the first and second lever members to make a reciprocating motion toward the opposite directions to each other. The bicycle with reciprocating pedals is provided to have a simple structure, to be easy to manufacture, to be reduced in weight, and to enable a user to ride without feeling sense of difference since the pedals and the lever units are placed on the same positions as those of a regular bicycle.
