    Abstract: PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to prevent electric coupling of a driving signal applying unit and liquid crystal, and prevent damage of the driving signal applying unit due to a sealing member by separating the driving signal applying unit from air and liquid crystal, thereby preventing lowering of quality of an image. CONSTITUTION: A first substrate(100) includes a first display area(110) for displaying an image, a first peripheral area(120) covering the first display area, and a driving signal applying unit arranged at the first peripheral area for applying a gray scale voltage to the first display area. A second substrate(200) includes a second display area(210) opposite to the first display area and receiving a reference voltage for display the image, and a second peripheral area(220) covering the second display area. A sealing member(300) hermetically seals the first display area and the driving signal applying unit. A separation member(400) is arranged between the first display area and the driving signal applying unit for separating the first display area and the driving signal applying unit. A liquid crystal layer(500) is arranged between the first display area and the second display area.
