본 발명은 복수의 원격 접속을 지원하는 UPnP(Universal Plug and Play) RAS(Remote Access Server) 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 UPnP RAS 장치의 통신 방법에서는 복수의 원격 네트워크들의 UPnP 장치들로부터 복수의 원격 접속 연결을 수락하고, 복수의 원격 네트워크들과 홈 네트워크에서 각각 탐색된 장치 리스트 정보를 수집하고, 수집된 정보를 이용하여, 복수의 원격 네트워크들 간에 장치 리스트 정보를 동기화하기 위한 동기화 정보를 생성하고, 동기화 정보를 복수의 원격 네트워크들의 UPnP 장치들에게 전송한다.

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for providing external network services to a home network device are provided to improve the quality of various services by allowing service providers to manage media contents shared in the home network. CONSTITUTION: A storage unit(160) stores external network identification(ID) information allocated in a gate way. A service managing part(150) generates and stores integrated ID information by integrating the ID information of a home network device added in a home network and the external network ID information of the gateway. The service managing part transmits a registration request message based on the ID information of the home network and the ID information of the external network to a service providing server located at the external network through a proxy module(120).
