Abstract: PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to enable a user or a worker to adjust the vertical height of a door through simple operation. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator has a body(1) having at least one refrigerating compartment and a door(7) opening and shutting the refrigerating compartment and having a hinge groove at one end. The refrigerator includes a hinge bracket(20) installed to the front of the lower end of the body, to be arranged to the lower part of the door, a slider, and an adjusting bolt(60). A hinge shaft(50) received in the hinge groove is reciprocatingly joined to the hinge bracket. The slider is supported to the hinge bracket slidably along the transverse direction of the reciprocating direction of the hinge shaft. The tip of the slider has sliding contact with the lower end of the hinge shaft. The adjusting bolt is joined to a fastening hole of the hinge bracket formed toward the transverse direction of the reciprocating direction of the hinge shaft, to make one end come in contact with the slider.

The housing, the piston and the air serve as a gas shock absorber.
